Glen Rogers made an eerie statement before his execution

A notorious death row inmate chose to give a shoutout to Donald Trump in his final words, and hinted at a very dark secret.

Glen Rogers, who described himself as a ‘serial killer’, sat on death row for almost three decades before he was executed by the state of Florida on Thursday (May 15).

The 62-year-old died by lethal injection at Florida State Prison near Starke, and was declared dead at 6.16pm, according to authorities.

Rogers was convicted after murdering two moms in separate incidents in 1995 just weeks apart; mom-of-two Tina Marie Cribbs, 34, and mom-of-three Sandra Gallagher, 33.

However, it is alleged he told cops that he murdered around 70 people throughout his life.

Why was Glen Rogers nicknamed the ‘Casanova killer’?

The killer gained notoriety, not only for his heinous crimes but also for his unusual nickname as a ‘Casanova’ – someone who is known for seducing women and having many love interests.

A jury sentenced Rogers to death in 1997, finding him guilty of first-degree murder, armed robbery, and grand theft of a motor vehicle, relating to Cribbs.

He had met the mom in a bar in Tampa and convinced her to drive him home, after which he stabbed her to death.

Her lifeless body was found days later in the bathtub of a Tampa motel room.

Police noted her car was missing from the scene and managed to apprehend Rogers following a highway chase in Kentucky while he was driving her stolen vehicle.

He then received another death sentence in California in 1999 for the strangulation of Gallagher, whom he had also met at a bar in Van Nuys.

After their meeting, her body was found badly burned near Rogers’ apartment.

The authorities suspected Rogers committed several more heinous crimes in his life, murdering at least five people across California, Mississippi, Florida, Ohio, and Louisiana.

In a 2012 documentaryMy Brother the Serial Killer, his brother Clay claimed Rogers was also responsible for the 1994 murders of Nicole Brown Simpson, O.J. Simpson‘s ex-wife and her friend, Ron Goldman, though the Los Angeles Police Department dismissed the claim, according to Fox News.

What were Glen Rogers’ last words?

Rogers chose pizza, chocolate cake, and a soda for his final meal, according to Daily Star, and his last words had a chilling effect on those present at his execution.

Moments before he was administered the lethal injection, Rogers gave an unsettling shout out to the President as an odd choice for his final words.

He said: “President Trump, keep making America great.

“I’m ready to go,” he added.

He also thanked his wife, who had visited him earlier that day in prison.

However, he also hinted at a dark secret before tipping his hat to the POTUS, saying: “In the near future, your questions will be answered.”

How many executions have taken place so far in Florida this year?

According to reports, Rogers is the 16th person in the US to be executed – and the fifth person in just Florida alone this year.

There were six executions in the state in 2023, but only one in 2024.

The Associated Press reports that the state is continuing to ramp up executions with another convicted killer set to die on June 10.

Republican Governor Ron DeSantis recently signed a death warrant for Anthony Wainwright, 54, who was found guilty of the kidnap, rape and murder of Carmen Gayheart in 1994.

Gayheart had been abducted from a grocery store parking lot in Lake City, Florida, by Wainwright, AP reports.

Prior to his execution, Rogers’ attorneys filed several appeals across state and federal courts, all of which were unsuccessful.

They claimed he shouldn’t be executed based on laws that permit the death penalty for trafficked young children, citing that Rogers was a victim of child abuse and ought to receive a life sentence instead.

However, such arguments were dismissed.Featured Image Credit: FOX 13 Tampa Bay

Death row inmate suffered ‘excruciating’ execution after making brutal ‘mistake’ with last meal

A man who had been on death row since 2004 ended up suffering an ‘excruciating’ execution after making a brutal ‘mistake’ with his last meal.

Wesley Ira Purkey was found guilty of raping and murdering 16-year-old Jennifer Long back in 1998.

The victim was last seen at East High School in Kansas City, Missouri, on January 22 of that year as concerns heightened once the teen was nowhere to be seen in class.

Long had been lured into Purkey’s car before he took her back to his home; where he reportedly stabbed her to death and dismembered her body with a chainsaw.

The killer is then said to have burned her body in a fireplace and placed her remains in a septic pond in Clearwater, Kansas.

But to this day, the teen’s remains are yet to be found.

Purkey also killed Mary Bales, 80, after beating her with a claw hammer. But justice was served after neighbors saw him attempting to burn her body.

He was arrested before being found guilty of the double murder and placed on death row in January 2004.

When he was executed in 2020, Purkey was 68 years old and suffering from dementia.

Due to suffering from the disease, it is not clear whether he understood what was going to happen to due to how he treated his final meal.

He had requested pecan pie as his last meal but asked to save it for later, seemingly unaware there would not be a later for him.

When it came to his execution, Dr Gail Van Norman, a medical expert has said Purkey likely experienced an ‘excruciating’ death rather than the intended painless death.

The autopsy of Purkey revealed that he had suffered ‘severe bilateral acute pulmonary oedema’ and ‘frothy pulmonary oedema in trachea and main stem bronchi’, according to the Death Penalty Information Center.

Van Norman said this would cause a near drowning experience that would likely be ‘among the most excruciating feelings known to man’, and the filling of Purkey’s lungs could only have happened while he was still alive.

He added: “It is a virtual medical certainty, that most, if not all, prisoners will experience excruciating suffering, including sensations of drowning and suffocation from [the lethal injection drug] pentobarbital.”

Before his execution took place in July 2020, Purkey appeared to show remorse for his actions.

His final words were reportedly: “I deeply regret the pain and suffering I caused to Jennifer’s family. I am deeply sorry. I deeply regret the pain I caused to my daughter, who I love so very much. This sanitized murder really does not serve no purpose whatsoever.”Featured Image Credit: Kansas Department of Corrections

Haunting final words of death row inmate before he was executed

Death row inmate Jamie Ray Mills was convicted of a double murder in 2004

The last words of a death row inmate are always pretty eerie, but Jamie Ray Mills’ is surely up there.

The 50-year-old was convicted of beating to death and robbing elderly couple Floyd and Vera Hill in 2004.

Floyd, 87, died in the attack, while 72-year-old Vera survived the original incident but sadly lost her life two months later due to the nature of her injuries.

And after many years on death row, Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall filed a motion to set Mills’ execution date, stating that ‘it was time for his death sentence to be carried out’.

The Montomery Advertiser reported that Mills had a last meal consisting of three oysters, three large shrimp, two catfish filets, a stuffed crab and three onion rings

on Thursday (30 May) before being executed later that evening.

And at 6:26pm, Mills was strapped to a gurney and had an IV connected to each arm.

Given the chance to make some final remarks at Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore, Mills said: “I love my family. I love my brother and sister. I couldn’t ask for anything more… I love y’all. Carry on.”

The killer prayed with a spiritual adviser and flashed thumbs up at his family members who watched on.

Speaking after the execution, the Hill family stated: “For the past 20 years our family has been seeking justice. Justice has been served.”

It comes as an Alabama inmate was the first to be executed by a new controversial method in January.

Kenneth Eugene Smith was originally sentenced to death after he was convicted of capital murder for the murder-for-hire of Elizabeth Sennett in 1988.

And on 25 January, Smith was executed at 8.25pm CST at Holman Correctional Facility, Alabama.

The new execution method involved the use of nitrogen hypoxia, in which the inmate breathes in nitrogen through a respirator placed over their nose and mouth – killing them as a result of oxygen deprivation.

In a final statement before his passing, Smith said: “Tonight Alabama causes humanity to take a step backwards. … I’m leaving with love, peace and light.”

He then made the ‘I love you sign’ with his hands toward family members who were present, before concluding: “Thank you for supporting me. Love, love all of you.”Featured Image Credit: Alabama Department of Corrections / Paul Harris/Getty Images

Autopsy of death row inmate reveals horrific details after execution allegedly 'botched' by firing squad

Autopsy of death row inmate reveals horrific details after execution allegedly ‘botched’ by firing squad

The results suggest three marksmen missed his heart and caused ‘excruciating pain’

Liv Bridge

The autopsy results of a death row inmate who chose to die by firing squad suggests the execution didn’t go to plan.

Mikal Mahdi was sentenced to death for his killing spree in Windston-Salem, North Carolina, in July 2004, where he took the life of a 29-year-old convenience store clerk, Christopher Jason Boggs, and gunned down 56-year-old off-duty police officer, James Myers, two days later in South Carolina.

The then-21-year-old shot Myers as many as eight times before attempting to burn his body.

On April 11, Mahdi was executed by firing squad at the age of 42 for his crimes committed two decades ago at the Broad River Correctional Institution.

Mahdi’s legal team said he opted to be executed by state marksmen as opposed to lethal injection or electrocution, believing it would be quicker and the least painful method.

However, an independent autopsy has now revealed the three gunmen likely missed Mahdi’s heart, instead striking him above the abdomen and piercing his liver and pancreas.

The results showed Mahdi suffered two gunshot wounds to his body, despite three gunmen being tasked with the execution.

Documents filed to the Supreme Court on Thursday (May 8) allege the convicted murderer endured a prolonged painful death beyond the ’10-to-15 second’ margin that was anticipated, reports Daily Mail.

Witnesses claim Mahdi cried out once he was shot and could be heard groaning and still breathing for at least a minute afterwards.

He wasn’t officially declared dead for four minutes, with his lawyers finding he likely lost consciousness some 30 to 60 seconds after being shot, two to four times longer than it should’ve been.

Doctor Jonathan Arden, a pathologist hired by Mahdi’s legal team, said: “The shooters missed the intended target area and the evidence indicates that he was struck by only two bullets, not the prescribed three.”

Dr Arden said Mahdi probably experienced intense pain for ‘air hunger,’ as his lungs tried to expand against his broken ribs and sternum and created a suffocating sensation as they failed to draw in enough oxygen.

David Weiss, an attorney for Mahdi, also told the news outlet: “The autopsy confirms what I saw and heard.

“Mikal suffered an excruciating death. We don’t know what went wrong, but nothing about his execution was humane.

“The implications are horrifying for anyone facing the same choice as Mikal. South Carolina’s refusal to acknowledge their failures with executions cannot continue.”

The attorneys believe the execution was ‘botched’ as either the prison firing squad missed or the target over Mahdi’s chest wasn’t accurately aligned.

The independent result also comes as South Carolina’s Corrections Department had issued its own autopsy which suggested three bullets had struck him, with two hitting the same mark on Mahdi’s body.

Yet Mahdi’s lawyers described the state autopsy as ‘incredibly sparse, with far fewer details and photographs than normally issued.’

They claim there is a lack of evidence that two bullets entered the same place, such as a lack of X-rays and close-up photographs of Mahdi’s body or clothing.

“Mr. Mahdi elected the firing squad, and this Court sanctioned it, based on the assumption that SCDC could be entrusted to carry out its straightforward steps: locating the heart; placing a target over it; and hitting that target,” their letter to the court read. “That confidence was clearly misplaced.”

Dr Arden also said in his 40-year career, he had never encountered two bullets entering the exact same spot on a human body before.

Donald Trump reveals ‘very important’ point as he addresses rumors about running for third term as president

Trump also shared that he believes he has already served three terms

Britt Jones

Donald Trump has talked about serving three terms as he addressed rumors about his future plans.

The president of the United States is currently serving his second time in office, but has joked many times about running for a third term.

Trump once refused to talk about the loopholes which could see him being able to run a third time, even though it is banned by the US constitution.

But US Representative Andy Ogles later suggested making a change to the 22nd Amendment to allow for him to run smoothly.

Anyway, former White House strategist and senior advisor to Trump in 2017, Steve Bannon said they might not need to ‘amend the constitution’ so Trump can go for three.

Oddly, Trump has said that he’s already completed three terms, at an appearance at a rally in Michigan to mark the first 100 days of his second term last month where when the crowd chanted ‘three’ in support of a third run, he responded: “Well, we actually already served three, if you count.

“But remember, I like the victories, I like the three victories which we absolutely had. I just don’t like the results of the middle term.”

Essentially, he was making a remark that the 2020 election was rigged – which saw him lose to Joe Biden.

But all of this talk of Trump’s teasing of the idea has got it into people’s heads that it could be a reality soon.

Has anyone asked him whether or not he wants to run again?

Because apparently, he has no interest, despite hinting that he might.

“I’ll be an eight-year president, I’ll be a two-term president. I always thought that was very important,” Trump told NBC at the Meet the Press event on Sunday (May 4).

While he has claimed before that he is ‘not joking’ about wanting to serve a third term or longer, he went on to say that it was all to fuel the ‘fake news media’.

The Trump Organization was also selling ‘Trump 2028’ hats to continue the charade.

He shared that people have asked him to run again, but it’s not what he wants to do.

“So many people want me to do it,” Trump said. “It’s something that, to the best of my knowledge, you’re not allowed to do. I don’t know if that’s constitutional that they’re not allowing you to do it or anything else.”

Online, people had mixed thoughts on this, with one person stating he was contradicting himself, while another wrote: “This isn’t what he was saying before but either way we’re thankful….”

He added that ‘there are many people selling the 2028 hat’, but ‘this is not something I’m looking to do’.

So, there’s your answer. Trump has no plans to run again, and to be honest, with the way his statistics are looking, it seems like many do not want Trump to run again either.
