It was a bright and peaceful morning in the jungle village — the kind of morning when birds chirped, kids laughed, and everything felt calm. But peace never lasted long whenever CUTIS, the cheeky and mischievous monkey, was around.
CUTIS had a reputation: the funniest troublemaker in the whole area. He was small, fast, clever, and loved to play pranks on everyone — humans and monkeys alike. From stealing hats to switching people’s slippers, CUTIS was always up to something. But that day, oh that day, things didn’t go as planned. And by the end of it, everyone would be laughing so hard that even CUTIS himself would join in — shouting, “Who’s laughing nowww?!” 🐒🤣
The Setup: CUTIS’s Big Plan
CUTIS woke up that morning feeling extra playful. The sunlight warmed his fur, and the sound of people cooking breakfast made his stomach rumble.
He peeked from his tree and saw Mr. Raju, the banana seller, laying out his fruits for the day. There were golden bananas, shiny apples, and sweet papayas — a monkey’s dream come true.
CUTIS licked his lips. “Perfect,” he thought. “Breakfast is ready — I just have to collect it!”
He planned it carefully. The idea was simple but risky: sneak into the banana stall, grab a few, and escape before Mr. Raju noticed.
CUTIS tied a long vine to a branch like a rope, tested it by swinging once or twice, and grinned. He felt like a secret agent on a mission. “Operation Banana Swipe begins!”
The Mission Goes Wrong 🍌🤣
Everything was going smoothly at first. CUTIS swung down silently, landed near the stall, and reached for the biggest banana bunch he could find.
But just as he grabbed it — SPLASH! — a bucket of water fell right on his head!
Turns out, Mr. Raju had been ready for him this time. He’d set a clever trap after losing too many fruits in the past. CUTIS froze, drenched from head to toe, blinking as water dripped from his fur.
Everyone in the market turned around and burst into laughter!
“CUTIS got caught!” shouted one of the kids.
“Who’s laughing nowww, CUTIS?!” yelled Mr. Raju, grinning.
CUTIS stood there, completely soaked, banana still in hand, looking like a wet towel with ears. The laughter grew louder. Even the parrots on the trees started mimicking the people: “Ha-ha-ha! Who’s laughing nowww!” 🦜
The Monkey’s Comeback Plan 🐒💡

CUTIS couldn’t just let it end like that. No way! His pride was at stake. He ran back to his tree, shaking himself dry like a little dog, water flying everywhere.
“Okay,” he muttered, “they laughed at me today, but tomorrow… I’ll be the one laughing!”
He spent the rest of the afternoon plotting. He gathered leaves, sticks, and some leftover coconut shells. By evening, CUTIS had built something that looked like a little “scarecrow monkey” — a fake monkey version of himself.
He placed it near Mr. Raju’s stall during the night and hid nearby. The next morning, when Raju came to open his stall, he saw the fake monkey sitting there holding a banana!
“CUTIS! Not again!” Raju shouted, throwing another bucket of water.
SPLASH! — but this time, the bucket hit the fake monkey and completely missed CUTIS, who was watching from above, laughing uncontrollably.
“Who’s laughing nowww, Raju?!” he screeched, rolling on the branch and slapping his tail on the wood in laughter. 🤣
The people nearby saw the whole thing and started laughing too — at both Raju and CUTIS. Soon everyone was howling with laughter, shouting, “Who’s laughing nowww!” back and forth like a game.
CUTIS had turned his revenge into a comedy show.
The Chase Gone Wild 🏃♂️🐒💨
Raju wasn’t going to give up so easily. He grabbed a broom and started chasing CUTIS around the market. CUTIS ran across rooftops, leaped over fruit stalls, and even landed on top of a goat for a ride!
The goat got startled and began running in circles with CUTIS holding on tight, shouting like a cowboy, “Yeehawww! Go, go, go!”
People laughed so hard that tears streamed down their faces. The goat stopped suddenly, and CUTIS flew straight into a pile of hay, popping his head out with straw sticking everywhere.
He looked ridiculous — like a monkey wearing a wig! Everyone cheered, “Who’s laughing nowww, CUTIS?!”
CUTIS brushed off the hay, puffed his chest, and instead of being embarrassed, he gave a big bow. He enjoyed the laughter — after all, he loved making people laugh, even if it was at his own expense.
CUTIS and the Mirror Incident 🪞🙊

Later that day, CUTIS wandered near a small shop that sold shiny things — jewelry, mirrors, trinkets. He saw his reflection for the first time in a big mirror placed outside.
At first, he thought it was another monkey. He grinned — the “other monkey” grinned back. He waved — it waved back. CUTIS got suspicious.
“Who is this handsome fellow copying me?” he thought.
He puffed his chest and made a funny face. The reflection did the same. CUTIS’s jaw dropped.
Then he jumped forward and bonked his head against the mirror!
Everyone watching gasped — then burst into laughter again. CUTIS rubbed his head, dazed, and looked at the mirror as if it had betrayed him.
“Oh, so that’s how it is?” he said in his monkey way, picking up a small stick and pointing at his reflection like a challenge.
“Who’s laughing nowww, huh?!” he shouted and hit the mirror lightly — only to be startled again when it “hit” him back. 😂
The Unexpected Hero Moment 💛
By the afternoon, CUTIS had done so many crazy things that everyone in the village was in a cheerful mood. But then, something unexpected happened.
A strong wind blew through the market, knocking over a few baskets and blowing papers everywhere. A small child lost his hat, and it rolled toward the riverbank.
Before anyone could move, CUTIS dashed forward, leaping from one stall to another, grabbed the hat just before it fell into the water, and returned it to the boy.
The villagers clapped and cheered. The boy hugged his hat and smiled at CUTIS. “Thank you, funny monkey!”
Mr. Raju chuckled, shaking his head. “Okay, CUTIS, you win. You might be crazy, but you’ve got a good heart.”
CUTIS smiled proudly, held up the hat like a trophy, and made everyone laugh again by placing it on his head sideways.
The Final Laugh 😆🐒

That evening, the villagers sat together telling stories of the day. Every sentence started and ended with laughter — from the water trap to the goat chase to the mirror fight.
CUTIS sat on the rooftop above them, munching on a banana, tail swinging gently in the breeze.
He looked down at the laughing humans and monkeys, smiled wide, and shouted one last time for everyone to hear:
“WHO’S LAUGHING NOWWW?! 🐒🐵🤣”
Everyone burst into another round of laughter, clapping and cheering.
Even Mr. Raju couldn’t hold back. He tossed another banana up at CUTIS and said, “You are, my friend. You’re the one laughing now.”
CUTIS caught it perfectly, saluted like a hero, and disappeared into the trees — his giggles echoing through the forest.
Moral of the Story 🌿💛
Sometimes life makes you the joke, and sometimes you’re the one making everyone laugh. But as long as you can laugh at yourself, you never really lose.
CUTIS, the funny monkey, taught everyone that laughter is the best gift — whether you’re being pranked, chasing bananas, or dancing like a fool.
So, when things go wrong, just remember to smile, shake it off, and say with a grin —
“Who’s laughing nowww? 🐒🐵🤣”
