Everything Happened On This Trip! | Colorado Vlog Pt 1

Welcome to my Colorado adventure! This trip was supposed to be a relaxing getaway, but let me tell you—everything happened. From breathtaking mountain views to unexpected twists, this trip had it all. Buckle up because this is just Part 1 of the journey!

Day 1 – The Journey Begins

The excitement was real as I packed my bags and headed to the airport. Colorado has been on my bucket list for so long, and I couldn’t wait to finally explore it. The flight was smooth, and as we descended, the sight of the snow-covered Rocky Mountains had me completely mesmerized.

After landing in Denver, I picked up my rental car and started the drive to our cozy cabin in Estes Park. The scenery was unreal—endless pine trees, snow-capped peaks, and the freshest air I’ve ever breathed. We made a quick stop at a local café for some warm drinks, and that’s when the first unexpected thing happened.

As I walked out, I slipped on a patch of ice! Yep, classic winter moment. Luckily, I landed on my backpack, so no harm done—just a little embarrassment and lots of laughter.

Day 2 – Hiking & Wildlife Encounters

Waking up in the cabin was a dream. The crisp morning air, the sound of birds, and the sight of mountains outside the window—it felt surreal. We had a slow morning with coffee by the fireplace before heading out for our first hike in Rocky Mountain National Park.

We chose the Emerald Lake Trail, and oh my gosh, it was stunning! Frozen lakes, towering pine trees, and the most beautiful snowy trails. But guess what? Halfway through, we saw a group of elk right on the path! They were just casually grazing, completely unbothered by us. It was one of those moments where you just stop and take it all in.

The hike took a bit longer than expected because we kept stopping for pictures (I mean, how could we not?!), but it was worth every second. By the time we got back to the cabin, we were starving, so we made a huge pot of chili and had the coziest night in.

Day 3 – Snowstorm Adventure

Just when we thought things were going smoothly, Colorado had other plans. We woke up to heavy snowfall and crazy winds. The roads were completely covered, and our plans for another hike had to be put on hold.

Instead, we decided to drive into town and explore some local spots. We found the cutest little bookstore and spent hours browsing. Then, we stopped at a café that had the best hot chocolate I’ve ever tasted.

But here’s where things got wild—on our way back, the car got stuck in the snow! Yep, completely stuck. We tried everything—rocking the car back and forth, pushing it, even using floor mats for traction. Just when we were about to call for help, a local couple stopped and helped us out. The kindness of strangers is truly amazing.

After finally making it back to the cabin, we built a fire, made s’mores, and just appreciated being warm and safe. The storm outside was intense, but inside, it was pure coziness.

Day 4 – Sunrise & A Change of Plans

The snowstorm passed, and we woke up to the most breathtaking sunrise over the mountains. It felt like a fresh start. Originally, we planned to drive to another trail, but after yesterday’s car mishap, we decided to stay closer to the cabin and explore nearby.

We found a hidden trail that led to a frozen waterfall, and let me tell you—it looked straight out of a winter fairytale. The ice shimmered in the sunlight, and we even saw some people ice climbing (which looked both terrifying and amazing!).

After a long day of exploring, we treated ourselves to dinner at a rustic lodge-style restaurant. The food was incredible—warm bread, homemade soup, and the best steak I’ve had in ages.

What’s Next?

And that’s just the beginning of this wild Colorado trip! Stay tuned for Part 2, where we take on more hikes, try skiing for the first time, and have even more unexpected adventures. This trip is turning out to be one for the books!
