Holy Cow Are These Slabs Beautiful Part 3 Full video on YouTube Triple L Rustic Designs

Welcome back, wood lovers and rustic design fanatics! If you’ve been following the journey of these spectacular slabs through our previous videos, then you already know how jaw-dropping these pieces of timber are. But Part 3? Oh boy, this takes it to a whole new level. “Holy cow” doesn’t even begin to cover it!

In this latest chapter, we unwrap some of the most stunning slabs we’ve ever laid eyes on—each one a masterpiece of nature, with unique grain patterns, rich color variations, and the kinds of imperfections that make a piece truly one of a kind. So, buckle up. We’re diving deep into the heart of craftsmanship and celebrating wood in its raw, powerful beauty.

A Quick Recap

Before we get into the star slabs of Part 3, here’s a quick refresher for those who are just tuning in. Triple L Rustic Designs is all about honoring natural wood while transforming it into statement pieces for homes, cabins, and commercial spaces. In Part 1 and Part 2 of this video series, we showed you the beginning of our latest lumber haul—some walnut, maple, and pecan slabs with insane curl, figure, and live edges.

The goal? Not just to showcase the slabs but to spark your imagination. We want you to see coffee tables, bar tops, counters, and statement art where others might just see wood. This is nature’s canvas, and Part 3 brings out the absolute best of it.

The Big Reveal – Slabs That Speak

The moment the tarp comes off, jaws drop. Our latest kiln load is fresh out, air-dried for months and then slow-cured in the Nyle Kiln to preserve its color and kill any pests—because beauty needs durability too.

The first slab we reveal is a massive bookmatched walnut pair, each piece 2.75 inches thick, 10 feet long, and bursting with curl and chatoyance. That tiger-stripe shimmer under the light? Unreal. The dark chocolate tones contrast beautifully with lighter sapwood streaks, almost like marble veining. This pair is destined to be a conference table, and it’s going to stop people in their tracks.

Character in Every Curve

What sets these slabs apart isn’t just their size or color—it’s their character. One of the live-edge sycamore slabs we feature has a natural void right in the center, framed with rolling burl eyes and spalting. Now, to some people, a hole might seem like a flaw. But to us? That’s the soul of the slab. We’re thinking of filling it with clear epoxy, preserving the natural void while making it functional and smooth. Imagine that as a river-style table, with LED lighting beneath. Instant art.

And don’t even get us started on the red elm slab that’s practically glowing. Rich golds and reds flow together like fire in wood form. This piece was a sleeper in the stack—hidden under bigger slabs and almost overlooked. But once the dust was blown off, it became one of the stars. It’s got wild live edges and that classic cathedral grain pattern that only red elm can deliver.

The Craftsmanship Behind the Scenes

Of course, these slabs didn’t get this beautiful on their own. It takes serious prep and patience to get wood like this ready for design. Every slab is milled in-house at Triple L Rustic Designs. We flatten them on our CNC slab flattener, which ensures perfect surfaces, and then sand them progressively from 60 to 220 grit until they’re silky smooth.

Before filming Part 3, we spent days finishing the edges—removing bark, softening sharp areas, and oiling up the grain to let the colors pop. For the big reveal, we applied a natural oil-based finish that brought out the full depth of the grain without any artificial coloring. What you see in the video is 100% real.

Custom Projects Coming Soon

Here’s the best part: many of these slabs featured in Part 3 are still available for custom orders. If you’ve ever dreamed of having a dining table that no one else in the world owns, or a floating vanity that looks like it came out of a forest fairytale, now’s your chance.

We’re currently booking builds for fall delivery. Our team works with each client to select the perfect slab, plan the dimensions, pick the right base—wood, metal, or a hybrid—and even add custom epoxy or engraving. It’s all about creating something that feels personal.

Why It Matters

Sure, anyone can buy a factory-made table from a chain store. But real woodwork—slabs like these—tell a story. Each ring marks a year of growth. Each crack or knot is a badge of weathering storms. These pieces were once trees standing tall in the forest, and now, through skilled hands and careful design, they’ll get to live on in someone’s home.

That’s the magic. That’s the mission. And that’s why we get so excited every time we get to yell, “Holy cow, are these slabs beautiful!”

Thanks for reading, thanks for watching, and remember—beauty like this doesn’t come from a factory. It comes from nature, and from those who are willing to listen to what the wood has to say.
