The sun had risen early, casting its golden rays through the window of the little house where Lala lived. Summer had arrived in full force, and with it came the scorching heat that clung to everything like a heavy blanket. Lala, the adorable and playful little girl with rosy cheeks and curious eyes, tossed and turned in her bed. Even the fan humming gently in the corner didn’t help.
Sweat dripped from her forehead as she sat up and sighed. Her clothes stuck to her skin, and her long hair felt sticky. She looked out the window, hoping for a breeze. But the trees outside stood still, the leaves unmoving. It was going to be one of the hottest days of the year.
“Thuy!” Lala called out as she slowly walked to the living room where her older sister was reading a book. “It’s so hot today. I can’t stand it.”
Thuy looked up from her book and smiled gently. She could see the discomfort on Lala’s face. Her little sister’s cheeks were flushed, and her eyes looked tired. Thuy closed her book and put it down.
“Oh, my poor Lala,” Thuy said kindly, getting up and wiping Lala’s sweaty forehead with a cool towel. “The weather is really awful today, isn’t it?”
Lala nodded eagerly, “Can you give me a bath, please? A special one! I want to feel cool and fresh again.”
Thuy laughed softly. “Of course! Let’s make this bath extra special, just for you.”
Excitedly, Lala followed Thuy to the bathroom. As Thuy prepared the water, she added a few drops of lavender and mint essential oil. The calming scent filled the air, instantly making the space feel fresher. Then, she poured some cool—not cold—water into the tub and tossed in a few floating flower petals for beauty.
Lala’s eyes lit up. “It smells so nice! And the flowers are so pretty!”
Thuy giggled. “Only the best for my little sister.”

As Lala stepped into the tub, she let out a happy sigh. The water was cool and soothing against her overheated skin. She closed her eyes and relaxed as Thuy gently poured water over her head with a little cup. Thuy used a soft sponge and carefully cleaned Lala’s arms, back, and legs, taking extra care not to rush. Every gentle motion helped wash away the heat and discomfort.
“Ahh, this feels amazing,” Lala murmured.
After washing Lala’s hair with a mild strawberry-scented shampoo, Thuy massaged her scalp in little circles. “You’ve been such a good girl this week, helping water the plants and clean your toys. You deserve to be pampered today,” she said.
Lala giggled, splashing the water gently with her hands. “I love our bath time. It feels like a spa!”
When the bath was over, Thuy wrapped Lala in a big, fluffy towel and carried her to the living room where she had already prepared a cozy spot with a fan blowing and a soft pillow. She helped Lala put on a clean cotton dress, light and airy. Then, she brushed her damp hair gently, tying it up into two cute buns with pink ribbons.
As a final touch, Thuy brought over a bowl of freshly sliced watermelon and a glass of cool coconut water. “Here you go, my princess. Some sweet treats to help you stay cool from the inside too!”
Lala clapped her hands in delight. “You’re the best, Thuy!”
They sat together on the couch, enjoying the refreshing snacks. Lala leaned on Thuy, feeling peaceful and happy. The cool air from the fan, the bath, the care, and the love—it all made her forget about the horrible heat outside.
But Thuy wasn’t finished yet. “Let’s do a mini spa for fun,” she said, reaching for a small box.

“What’s that?” Lala asked curiously.
Thuy opened the box to reveal tiny bottles of gentle lotion, a small foot soak bowl, and a special peppermint spray. “This is your at-home spa kit,” she explained. “We’ll massage your feet and spray some mint mist on your neck and arms. You’ll feel even cooler!”
Lala was thrilled. Thuy helped her soak her tiny feet in cool water and then rubbed a soft lotion on her legs. She sprayed the mint mist gently over Lala’s neck and arms, and the cooling sensation made Lala shiver in delight.
“You should open your own spa, Thuy,” Lala said dreamily. “You’re amazing at this.”
Thuy smiled, brushing a strand of hair from Lala’s face. “Maybe someday. But for now, I just want you to feel happy and cool.”
As the sun continued to blaze outside, the little house became a place of calm and comfort. With a fresh bath, a cooling spa treatment, and her sister’s loving care, Lala had completely forgotten about the heat. She lay back on the couch, humming a soft tune as Thuy gently massaged her hands.

Later in the afternoon, the sky started to turn a bit cloudy. Thuy and Lala looked out the window and saw the first drops of rain fall. The sound of rain hitting the roof was soft and comforting. The air became cooler almost instantly.
“It’s raining!” Lala cried joyfully. “Now everything will cool down!”
Thuy smiled and pulled Lala close. “See? You asked for care and got a whole day of love. Now even the sky is helping you feel better.”
The two sat by the window, watching the rain and sipping warm ginger tea. Lala felt lucky to have such a wonderful sister. Not only had Thuy bathed her and taken special care of her during the hottest day, but she also made it all feel like an adventure full of love and happiness.
As the day turned into evening and the cool breeze came through the window, Lala yawned and leaned her head on Thuy’s shoulder.
“Thank you for everything,” she whispered sleepily.
“You’re welcome, Lala,” Thuy replied softly. “Now rest. Tomorrow will be a beautiful, cooler day.”
And with that, Lala drifted into a peaceful nap, dreaming of flowers, rain, and the gentle touch of someone who loved her more than anything.
