It was a hot, sunny day deep in the jungle, where the trees stood tall and birds chirped cheerfully. In a cozy treetop nest, Little Monkey stretched his arms and legs as the sunlight streamed in through the leafy branches. He blinked sleepily and looked around. His family was already up and playing nearby, but something special was on his mind today.
“Today is the day!” Little Monkey declared proudly. “I’m going to learn how to swim!”
For weeks, Little Monkey had watched the other animals splashing and playing in the sparkling jungle pond. The parrots dipped their wings, the elephants squirted water through their trunks, and the other young monkeys jumped in with joyful squeals. But Little Monkey had always hesitated. The water looked so deep, so mysterious—and so wet! He had only dared to dip his toes in before quickly scampering back.
But today was different. He had made up his mind.

He climbed down the big fig tree and ran toward the pond with determination. On the way, he bumped into his best friend, Tiko the toucan.
“Where are you going, Little Monkey?” Tiko squawked.
“I’m going on a brave splash adventure!” Little Monkey announced. “I’m going to learn how to swim!”
Tiko flapped his wings with excitement. “That’s amazing! I’ll fly ahead and let the others know. Everyone will cheer for you!”
Little Monkey smiled nervously. He wasn’t sure if he wanted a crowd to watch, but it was too late—Tiko had zoomed off through the trees, shouting, “Little Monkey is going swimming!”

When Little Monkey reached the edge of the jungle pond, a group of animals had already gathered. The water glistened under the sun, and the frogs sang a chorus of ribbits to cheer him on. His big brother, Max, was already in the pond, splashing around and doing flips in the water.
“Come on in!” Max called out, waving. “It’s fun once you try it!”
Little Monkey stood at the edge, his toes gripping the wet rocks. He looked down at the clear water and felt his heart pounding. “I want to do this,” he whispered to himself. “I can be brave.”
Then he took a deep breath, closed his eyes—and jumped!
SPLASH!
The water surrounded him with a rush of coolness. For a moment, Little Monkey flailed his arms and legs. “Help!” he squeaked, but then he remembered what Max had taught him the week before—“Kick your legs, and move your hands like paddles!”
He tried it. One, two, three little kicks. His hands pushed the water gently. And to his surprise, he didn’t sink. He floated!
“I’m swimming!” Little Monkey cried with delight.
The animals cheered. Tiko did a loop in the air. Max swam over and gave him a high five.
“You did it! That was an amazing splash!” Max said proudly.
Little Monkey grinned from ear to ear. The fear had vanished. He felt strong, free, and cool. He swam in circles, laughed when the fish tickled his toes, and even let Max show him how to float on his back.
Then, something incredible happened.
A little baby turtle was drifting away on a floating leaf. The wind had blown it toward the middle of the pond, and the baby turtle looked scared.
“Oh no!” cried one of the frogs. “That baby turtle can’t swim well yet!”
Without thinking, Little Monkey said, “I’ll help!”
He paddled with all his might toward the baby turtle. The water was a bit deeper in the middle, but Little Monkey didn’t stop. With each stroke, he grew more confident.
When he reached the turtle, he smiled and said, “Don’t worry! I’m here.”
The baby turtle blinked and gave a shy nod. Carefully, Little Monkey pushed the leaf back toward the shore, guiding it like a brave little boat captain. All the animals watched in silence as Little Monkey brought the turtle safely back.
When they reached the shallow water, the baby turtle wiggled its tiny feet and gave Little Monkey a gentle nuzzle on the cheek.
“Thank you,” the turtle whispered softly.
Little Monkey smiled proudly.
“You’re a hero!” shouted Max.
“You’re so brave!” cried Tiko.
“That was incredible!” croaked the frogs.
Even the wise old owl, who hardly ever came down from his tree, hooted in approval from a branch above.
Little Monkey’s heart was full of joy. Not only had he faced his fear and learned to swim, but he had helped someone else too. It had truly become a Brave Splash Adventure!
As the sun began to set, the animals gathered around for a celebration. They made a circle of flowers for Little Monkey to wear and sang jungle songs in his honor. There were coconut treats, banana smoothies, and lots of laughter.
Later that night, Little Monkey sat with Max on a tree branch, watching the stars twinkle above the quiet pond.
“I’m proud of you,” Max said. “You didn’t just learn how to swim. You showed everyone what bravery means.”
Little Monkey leaned his head on Max’s shoulder and smiled. “Thanks for teaching me. I think I want to go on another adventure tomorrow!”
Max laughed. “What kind of adventure?”
Little Monkey grinned. “Maybe diving! Or racing across the pond!”
They both laughed as the moon shone down on the peaceful jungle, and the pond sparkled gently below—waiting for more brave splashes to come.
The End. 🐒💦
