Early morning rays danced through the wooden slats of the countryside home, lighting up the porch where CUTIS the golden dog was already wide awake. But this morning was no ordinary morning. Something magical was happening in their home — something new, colorful, soft, and full of wonder. Baby stuff had arrived!
The excitement began the night before when Thuy, the kind-hearted woman who took care of CUTIS and the baby monkey, returned from town with a large box strapped to her motorbike. The box had pastel-colored cartoons on the side — smiling animals and bouncing letters. CUTIS sniffed it with his tail wagging furiously. But it was the baby monkey, Lala, who became instantly obsessed.
As soon as Thuy carried the box into the house and set it on the floor, Lala leaped onto it with pure delight, squeaking in excitement and patting the cardboard like it was treasure. CUTIS barked once and then sat down, head tilted, ears alert, also waiting to find out what was inside.
Thuy opened the box with a dramatic flair, as if she were unboxing something rare and precious. And in many ways, she was. Out came a soft baby mat with jungle animals, colorful pacifiers, baby bottles, rattles, a monkey-themed onesie, a tiny baby blanket, and an adorable hat with bear ears.
CUTIS rushed forward and grabbed the blanket, gently tugging it across the floor like it was a prized possession. Lala was already clinging to the hat, trying to wear it backward and giggling as it slid over her eyes.
It was chaos — adorable, hilarious chaos.
Thuy laughed until she had tears in her eyes. “You two are more excited than any baby I’ve ever seen!”

Lala rolled on the mat, patting the squeaky lion face in the corner. CUTIS, not wanting to be left out, flopped down beside her and started gently pawing the soft edges. The two looked like siblings discovering a magical world.
Soon, Thuy tried dressing Lala in the monkey onesie. Lala resisted at first, thinking it was some sort of weird punishment, but once she caught sight of herself in the mirror, she froze. Her reflection showed a mini monkey in a fluffy suit with little ears on the hood. She turned her head side to side, then suddenly burst into excited squeals, running around the room showing it off. CUTIS followed behind, jumping with joy and barking in agreement — yes, Lala looked like a superstar!
Then, CUTIS surprised everyone. He took one of the pacifiers from the floor and gently walked it over to Lala, placing it in front of her as if saying, “This is yours.” Lala stared, tilted her head, then picked up the pacifier and tried sucking on it — the wrong way, of course — which made Thuy giggle uncontrollably.
It didn’t stop there.
Thuy set up a small playpen she had found secondhand. It was meant for a human baby, but CUTIS and Lala saw it as the ultimate adventure zone. Lala climbed the mesh walls while CUTIS laid in the middle, claiming the softest part of the cushion inside. They took turns hiding under the baby blanket and popping out like surprise toys.
By midday, the house looked like a daycare center after a toy tornado had passed through. Stuffed animals, baby socks, teething rings — everything was everywhere. CUTIS had decided that the baby pillow was his new headrest and refused to share it. Lala, meanwhile, had discovered that rattles made wonderful dance music and was shaking two of them while spinning in circles.

Then came the shocking moment — Mom’s reaction.
Grandma Ly, Thuy’s mother, walked in from the garden, arms full of vegetables. She stepped inside and froze mid-step, eyes wide, mouth slightly open. The house was a complete mess. Baby gear everywhere. CUTIS chewing a plastic teether. Lala wearing a bib around her head like a hat, sitting in a highchair and banging on the tray with a baby spoon.
“What happened here?!” she exclaimed.
CUTIS and Lala froze.
Thuy turned around sheepishly. “They’re just… really enjoying the baby stuff I brought.”
Grandma Ly put down the vegetables and surveyed the scene like a detective at a crime scene. “That’s a teething ring in the dog’s mouth! And the monkey… is wearing a onesie?”
Lala proudly stood up in the chair and pointed at her outfit, as if to say, “Yes, I am!” She then did a little twirl, nearly falling off the chair.
Grandma Ly blinked. Then — the last thing anyone expected — she laughed. Loudly.
“This is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. But look at them! They’re so happy.”
She knelt down beside CUTIS, who gently laid the teether on her hand like a gift. Lala leapt into her lap, blanket in tow, and wrapped her little arms around her neck. The older woman sighed with affection.
“I suppose they’re just babies in their own way,” she said. “Even if one’s a monkey and the other a dog.”
From that moment on, Grandma Ly started calling them “the babies.” She even began crocheting small toys for them — a banana-shaped plush for Lala and a bone-shaped rattle for CUTIS.

The next day, Thuy brought home a used baby walker from the market. CUTIS and Lala spent hours taking turns pushing it around. At one point, Lala climbed into it and CUTIS gently nudged her across the room, acting like a proud big brother giving her a ride.
Thuy captured it all on video and uploaded it to her page. Within hours, the clip went viral. People from around the world couldn’t believe their eyes — a golden dog and a baby monkey playing like toddlers with real baby stuff. Comments flooded in:
“This is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!”
“CUTIS is the most gentle dog ever!”
“Lala needs her own reality show!”
“OMG, look at that monkey in the onesie!”
The video even caught the attention of a local news channel, who came to do a short feature. CUTIS sat patiently while a reporter interviewed Thuy, and Lala, always the star, danced in the background with a baby rattle in hand.

Despite the attention, things at home remained simple. CUTIS and Lala still woke up every morning eager to explore their collection of baby gear. They had tea parties (with water and banana slices), wore funny hats, and sometimes napped together on the playmat, the baby blanket spread over both of them.
And Grandma Ly? She now told everyone that her grandchildren were furry, funny, and full of love.
In the end, the baby stuff wasn’t just toys or clothes — it was a doorway to joy, imagination, and the special bond between two very different souls. CUTIS and Lala weren’t just animals playing with human things. They were family. And family, after all, is what makes even the smallest things feel like the biggest gifts.
The End.
