The sun had just risen behind the soft green hills, painting the forest in warm gold. Dewdrops sparkled on every leaf, and the air smelled fresh and sweet. Baby monkey Susu woke up early, stretching his tiny arms as he blinked sleepily. Today felt exciting, though he didn’t know why yet.
Beside him, his best friend Lala—another young monkey about Susu’s age—was already hopping around with energy.
“Wake up, Susu!” Lala said with a playful wiggle. “Let’s go explore the hill today!”
Susu rubbed his eyes. “The hill? But it’s so high!”
“That’s why it’s fun!” Lala giggled, tugging gently at Susu’s hand.

Susu wasn’t as brave as Lala, but he loved exploring with him. The hill was one of the most beautiful places near their forest home. It had tall grass, colorful flowers, and tiny insects dancing above the ground. Sometimes birds left shiny feathers there, and once, Susu even found a round little pebble he kept as his treasure.
“Okay,” he said finally with a shy smile. “Let’s go!”
Together, they climbed onto a tree branch and swung across vines, heading toward the hill. Their laughter echoed through the forest as they jumped from tree to tree. Every time Susu hesitated, Lala reached out a hand and helped him forward.
When they reached the hill, the breeze felt cool and refreshing. The view from the top was amazing—trees stretching far away, like a green ocean.
“Wow…” Susu whispered, his eyes full of wonder.

The two baby monkeys began exploring, sniffing the flowers and chasing butterflies. Then Lala suddenly froze.
“Susu! Look!” he shouted, pointing near a small bush.
Susu hurried over. There, lying on the soft grass, was a small bottle of milk. It looked clean and fresh, with the sunlight shining on it. A white liquid swirled inside when Lala gently picked it up.
“Someone must have left this here,” Lala said.
Susu’s eyes widened. Milk was his favorite thing in the whole world. Just seeing it made him feel warm and hungry. “Do you think we can drink it?”
Lala smiled. “Let’s check first.”

They sat under the shade of a tree. The forest was quiet except for the sound of birds. Lala sniffed the bottle. “Smells nice! Not old.”
Susu’s little tail flicked with excitement. “Can I have a sip?”
Lala nodded kindly and passed the bottle to him. Susu held it with both hands—it felt cool and smooth. He lifted it to his mouth and took a tiny sip.
His eyes sparkled instantly.
“It’s so yummy!” he squeaked happily.
Lala laughed. “Let me try!”
The two friends shared the bottle carefully, taking turns and making sure they didn’t spill a drop. Susu drank slowly, savoring every bit, while Lala gulped playfully, making silly faces after each sip.
Soon, half the milk was gone, and their bellies felt warm and full. Susu leaned back against a rock and let out a happy “Mm-hmm!” His fur ruffled gently in the breeze.
“This is the best day ever,” he said.
But suddenly, they heard soft footsteps.
The friends froze.
From the trees emerged a young goat named Pipi. She lived on the other side of the hill and was known for wandering around looking for snacks.
“What are you two drinking?” Pipi asked curiously.
Susu held the bottle behind him. “Um… milk.”
Pipi’s eyes sparkled. “Milk? I love milk too!”
Susu and Lala exchanged looks. They had almost finished the bottle… but they didn’t want to be selfish. Susu gently stepped forward and showed the bottle to Pipi.
“There’s a little left,” he said. “We can share.”
Pipi smiled so wide her ears wiggled. “Really? Thank you!”
Lala passed her the bottle, and Pipi took a careful sip. Her whole face lit up. “It’s delicious!”
The three of them sat in a circle on the hill, finishing the milk together. When the bottle was empty, Pipi set it carefully on the ground.
“Thank you for sharing,” she said. “You two are very kind.”
Susu blushed. “We just wanted everyone to enjoy it.”
After their milk adventure, the three animals decided to play together. They raced up and down the hill, rolled in the grass, and chased butterflies until the sun climbed high in the sky.
At one point, Susu tripped on a small rock and fell onto his belly. Lala rushed to him immediately.
“Susu! Are you okay?”
Susu giggled. “I’m fine! The grass is soft.”
He stood up and fluffed his fur, then continued running. Lala and Pipi cheered for him, happy to see how brave he was becoming.
Later, when they got tired, the three friends lay down under the big tree. The branches above them swayed gently, casting moving shadows across their faces.
“I wish we could find milk on the hill every day,” Susu said dreamily.
Pipi laughed. “Maybe someone will leave more!”
Lala shook his head playfully. “Or maybe Susu is secretly a milk magnet.”
Susu covered his face with his hands. “Nooo! Don’t tease me!”
But he laughed, too. Being with friends made everything feel lighter and happier.
As the afternoon sun started to soften, they knew it was time to go home. Pipi went down her side of the hill, while Susu and Lala headed back into the forest.
Along the way, Lala bumped his shoulder against Susu’s.
“You were really kind today,” Lala said. “Sharing the milk even though you love it so much.”
Susu smiled shyly. “It felt better to share. And we had so much fun because of Pipi.”
Lala nodded. “That’s why you’re such a good friend.”
Susu’s heart glowed. He never thought a simple bottle of milk could make a day so special.
When they reached home, Susu told his mother all about their adventure—climbing the hill, finding the bottle, sharing it, and playing with Pipi. His mother smiled warmly and hugged him close.
“You did well, Susu,” she said. “Kindness always makes the world brighter.”
That night, as Susu curled up to sleep, he still felt the warmth of the milk and the joy of the day. He dreamed of hills covered in flowers, of friends laughing, and of adventures waiting for tomorrow.
Because when you have a friend like Lala, and a heart as gentle as Susu’s, even the smallest discovery—like a bottle of milk on a hill—can turn into a memory you’ll cherish forever.
