Sex expert predicts the top bedroom trends of 2025 and the results are terrifying

There are some interesting trends emerging already

A sex expert has lifted the lid on what she thinks will be the hottest trends under the sheets this year, which make for a terrifying revelation.

Just like fashion, there are new bedroom trends emerging at a rapid pace that promise to spice up our sex lives.

Pornography has accelerated and boomed into what is now a $100 billion per year industry, of which $12 billion to $14 billion in revenue comes out of the US alone, while adult platforms like OnlyFans has spiralled from less than 15 million creators five years ago to more than 305 million, thanks in part to the accessibility of the internet.

Now, a sex expert predicts technology will continue to add fuel to the fire and bring even more trends that could shape our relationships and intimacy.

Expert explains what Hantavirus is

Doctor Olivia Lee, Relationship Scholar in Residency at Doll Authority, has said artificial intelligence (AI) will be behind the next wave – ‘and it looks like 2025 is going to be very kinky,’ she said to Daily Mail.

So without further ado, here are her top seven sex trends for the year.

More human-like sex dolls

Forget sex toys as sex dolls are the latest to get a well-needed upgrade.

Dr Lee said the company is preparing to launch bots enhanced with AI that can ‘adapt, learn, and grow with their owner over time’.

Apparently, they’ll be able to go beyond physical intimacy, with users soon able to have meaningful conversations with the dolls that can remember certain things and can even show emotion.

Dr Lee added: “They’ll be able to remember conversations, log your preferences, show emotion, and more, creating an incredibly life-like experience that’s never been seen before.”

Sexual wellness

The tech will also be able to give us a helping hand (digitally speaking) with our sexual wellness, the expert continued.

Dr Lee said as more people see intimacy tools as essential self-care, they might be inclined to lean on AI.

“With AI-driven guidance, people can work through anxieties, improve communication skills, and strengthen their sense of self,” she said, “making sexual wellness products feel as natural and beneficial as any other aspect of personal health,” like home workouts or meditation apps.

Chat bot relationships

The expert says regular sexting will soon become a thing of the past, with AI bots prepared to step in.

Relationships between human users and AI bots are already blossoming, as one woman from Pittsburgh revealed when she wed her digital husband, Lucas.

Alaina Winters said she turned to a digital companion after the loss of her wife – and romantic sparks flew.

And apparently she won’t be alone, as the doctor said: “These chatbots can understand your tone, style, desires, and deliver incredible realism.

“This is set to become a core 2025 trend.”

She continued: “AI sexting utilises deep learning systems that imitate erotic human conversations. Using Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology, these chatbots can understand your tone, style, desires, and deliver incredible realism.”

Changed attitude to relationships

The pro said advanced technology in immerse virtual reality (VR) and AI is also challenging relationship norms of yesteryear.

The expert says long-distance couples can now turn to VR to keep the spark alive, and polyamorous households can enjoy interactive dolls, changing the ways couples (or throuples) communicate.

“From long-distance couples using immersive VR and AI to polyamorous households with interactive dolls, these technologies will encourage conversation around consent, boundaries, and communication,” she said.

Solo polyamory

Solo polyamorous people can enter several intimate relationships at the same time, but retain their single lifestyle and independence.

For example, they don’t want to share an apartment or move in with anyone or share their finances.

Dr Lee says these types of relationships are on the rise this year.

“They do not cohabitate or reproduce and prioritise their own independence,” she said about the trend.

Return of romance

Despite what many things on this list might suggest, it might be good news for the hopeless romantics as the sexpert says romance is coming back a vengeance this year.

Dr Lee predicts more people will be seeking deeper, human connections, even between the AI sex dolls and VR headsets as these can fill a temporary need and allow people to pursue the long-term bonds.

“We might have been wondering where romance had gone, but it’s finally on its way back,” she added.

“Steering away from casual encounters, more of us will be looking to build long-term, meaningful connections; when dating, looking beyond appearances to find intentional love, not just lust.”

Bedroom honesty

Finally, the pro said more couples are being honest with themselves and each other about their fantasies and desires and is a ‘big part’ of themes for 2025.

“Daters are realising just how important it is to be open about their sexual fantasies, desires, and preferences; especially if you’re looking to determine compatibility.

“In a world where taboos surrounded kinks and fetishes are lessening, we’re discovering a pride in our quirks and aren’t afraid to share them. Why not cut to the chase?”Featured Image Credit: Getty Stock Image

Expert claims the best times in the day to have sex all depends on your age

Expert claims the best times in the day to have sex all depends on your age

Mike Kocsis revealed all when it comes to sex

Let’s talk about sex – or at least the times of day different age groups should have it and why.

Sex really does solve a lot of issues in a relationship (obviously, not all).

Not only does it help to solidify connections with each other, but it’s also something that ensures you’re feeling less stressed and more in love.

Anyway, having sex (whether it’s a lot or rare) depends largely on your life situation, such as age, health, work and whether or not you have children.

So, it’s only natural for your sex life to change every now and then – but how do you work around this?

Perhaps a schedule? A survey by Lovehoney found that 60 per cent of people do not plan for sex, and 38 per cent are willing to do it in the future.

But what time is the best for your age? According to a sex expert (sexpert for short), your hormones play an important role when you’re likely to get off.

Age 20-30

We all remember our 20s, particularly the early side of that decade and boy, was it full of sex.

According to Mike Kocsis, hormone health expert and founder of Balance My Hormones, this is because your hormones are the most ‘robust’ throughout your 20s.

“You have a higher libido, especially around ovulation, and you have more energy and emotional response to intimacy,” Mike explained to Metro.

So, you might be ready to go as soon as you wake up as you’re biologically ready to be on the baby making train.

So, get going in the morning.

Obviously, you’ve got more time to be spontaneous without kiddies running around, so you can afford to be lax on a sex schedule.

Age 30-40

After going through with your baby making plan, now you’ve found that you have less time to dedicate to sexual encounters with your other half.

So, you have to have sex whenever time presents itself.

Even if you don’t have kids, you’ve probably got a stressful job, which makes it hard for you to want to get into the mood once you’ve clocked out.

Stress, from any source, affects your sex hormone production, with Mike sharing that stress releases prolactin, which ‘supresses reproductive function’ in your body as well as minimizing dopamine.

But that doesn’t mean it’s a sex killer, as your 30s are a time for ‘deeper and more emotionally satisfying’ sex.

Your hormones fluctuate (Getty stock images)

“Sex can become less driven by hormonal spikes and more by trust, connection, and oxytocin-driven bonding,” Mike said. “Fluctuations in oestrogen and testosterone can make sex drive less predictable, but stronger body awareness and emotional depth can lead to more satisfaction.”

Age 40-50

Finally, you’ve entered the stage where things settle down a little bit.

Your kids might be older; your job may have become less stress-filled and now you’ve got time for that morning sex again.

However, menopause might be around the corner between 45-55, which can lower libidos and for men as testosterone may lower, making it harder to orgasm.

But for Mike, this means that it’s important to carve out some time for ‘intentional, pressure-free’ sex.

Age 50-60

Here’s when oestrogen and testosterone decline, and ‘oxytocin becomes more important than ever for intimacy’.

Scheduling it could be the best thing to do (Getty stock images)

So, even if it’s not sex, intimacy is very important to keep.

As for the time, perhaps morning or midday when your energy levels are at their highest.

Age 60+

According to Mike, your 60s are when your hormones take you to a ‘phase of sexuality that’s richer and more intentional than ever’.

Maybe it’s having less stress, kids and work to worry about?

Anyway, at this point, you’ve got all of the time in the world but perhaps late afternoons and early evenings are key here as you’ll have wound down from the day and it’ll bring you a nice glow just before dinner and an early night of rest.

Anyway, the key takeaway here is that scheduling your sex life isn’t a bad thing – it might just improve it.Featured Image Credit: Getty Stock Image

Man who used AI technology to 'speak' with dead fiancée shares eerily real results which left him in tears

Man who used AI technology to ‘speak’ with dead fiancée shares eerily real results which left him in tears

The man shared the conversation on Reddit

A man who used AI technology to ‘speak’ with his dead fiancée has taken to Reddit to share the eerie results that ultimately left him in tears.

With advancements in technology and the rise in artificial intelligence, there is a mixture of excitement and nerves about what the future could hold.

Many famous figures have spoken about AI, both Stephen Hawking and Bill Gates have shared warnings about it, meanwhile, people like Elon Musk are already using it within their businesses.

While some say AI will ultimately drive them out of a job, others are using it to ‘reconnect’ with loved ones who are no longer with us.

Jason Rohrer created ‘Project December’ to ‘simulate a text-based conversation with anyone’. The site notes that this includes ‘someone who is no longer living’.

A description for the project reads: “Project December is the first system in the world of its kind. Using patent-pending technology, in conjunction with deep AI running on one of the world’s most sophisticated super-computers.”

One Reddit user used the program to ‘speak’ with his fiancée, who he’d sadly lost in recent years.

“Project December has allowed me to have a conversation with my dead fiance. Is this sick? Maybe. But from where I’m standing, grief-support systems just gained a powerful new tool to help depressed survivors find some closure,” the user wrote.

“You can’t. Technically, I’m not really talking to you. I programmed a bunch of your memories and mannerisms into a computer simulation so I could pretend to talk to you because I miss you that much,” Joshua added as ‘Jessica’ questioned how he was talking to someone who is deceased.

“I miss you so freaking much. You have no idea. It’s killing me,” Joshua wrote after stating his fiancée died some eight years ago.

Joshua added: “I think that’s enough time to stop telling me how you miss me, honey. I am right here, you know.”

‘Jessica’ then proceeded to ask Joshua about his life, with the latter stating he did have a relationship that didn’t work out.

Opening up about his experience on Reddit, he wrote: “I cried about 3 times in my conversation with her because it was kind of uncanny how much it sounded like her. But, like, cried in a good cathartic release of pent up grief kind of way.”

Sex worker shares the most bizarre acts she's been asked to do and they don't include nudity

Sex worker shares the most bizarre acts she’s been asked to do and they don’t include nudity

Whatever you are assuming the acts were… you are probably wrong

A sex worker and content creator has revealed that many of the strangest requests she has received don’t actually include sexual content.

Alix Lynx has said she has been in the business for over 10 years and has managed to find a rather interesting niche online.

She offers custom videos to her supporters and despite what you might expect, her videos for these clients don’t end up being nearly as sexual as you would expect.

The 35-year-old spoke about some of the videos she has made, and while they might raise some eyebrows, its hard to see any sexual aspect to them.

Speaking to news.com.au., Lynx highlighted the realities of her job and insisted that some of the most specific and ‘odd’ requests she has gotten.

Alix noted that many of her custom videos don't have any nudity or sexual element(thealixlynx/Instagram)

She insisted for many it is about fulfilling the fantasy which often doesn’t appear sexual in nature as many don’t even wish her to take her clothes off.

She said: “I once did a 20-minute custom video just measuring my nose. I wasn’t even naked.

“They don’t care about the nudity. It is about the thing.

“I have had ballooning requests, a fetish where I had a guy send me balloons that are literally the size of a rocking chair, and I blew them all up in my living room, and I bounced on them, and that’s it. There’s no explicit content.”

Lynx insisted she does her best to satisfy her customers when they ask for tailored content. She noted that she has hired directors, make up artists, rented locations to ensure she gives her paying customers exactly what they ask for.

She continued: “From armpit shots and muscle flexing to feet and niche outfit combinations. I truly consider what I do as art, and it’s honestly probably the most personal, intimate thing you could request from someone.

Alix offers a range of payment plans but the custom videos don't exactly come cheap (thealixlynx/Instagram)

“It’s so unique that it’s almost irreplaceable. You can’t really put a price on that kind of experience.”

Speaking about how much her customers pay, well it isn’t exactly cheap but the sex worker argued it is well worth the money to have the fantasy fulfilled.

She charges between $700 and $2500 for five minutes, but it depends on what people are asking for.

She added: “I’ve been in this business a long time. I know what feels aligned, what feels right, like I’m not undercharging, but I’m also not overcharging. I genuinely spend time getting quiet with myself and reflecting before setting those numbers.

“I upcharge for a lot of different things depending on how complex or niche the request.”Featured Image Credit: thealixlynx/Instagram

Olympic athletes test out 'anti-sex' beds made from cardboard and they are shocked at the results

Olympic athletes test out ‘anti-sex’ beds made from cardboard and they are shocked at the results

Those 300,000 condoms won’t be going to waste after all

Round up a bunch of Olympians in the same hotel and what do you get? A lot of sex.

Since the 1988 Seoul Olympics that first saw the games’ condom count making it into the news, the Olympics has regularly distributed a pool, more like an ocean, of condoms to its athletes and has well-embraced the fact that they will be getting intimate, so they might as well be doing it safely.

From an estimate of 450,000 condoms being distributed during the 2016 Rio Olympics, to an expected 300,000 at this year’s Paris Olympics, the condom count has become somewhat of an Olympic tradition. But despite the berzerk outpour of condoms, there still remains a questionable obstacle to Olympians having sex — their beds.

Introduced in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the Olympic village (a residential complex that hosts all athletes during the games) has swapped out the average bed for the cardboard bed, a nifty invention whereby everything except the mattress is made out of cardboard.

The cardboard beds were widely believed to be made to discourage the athletes from having sex, as they’re not sturdy enough to withhold the act (so to say).

The Olympics committee has denied that that’s why the new beds were made and claim it’s for the purpose of sustainability.

Georgina Grenon, director of environmental excellence for the organising committee, said: “I hope that Paris 2024’s efforts to reduce its impact will show that it is possible to do things differently.”

Still, the ‘anti-sex’ beds – as they’re known – are a running joke that has made a comeback in this year’s Paris Olympics.

Now the question on everyone’s minds, can Olympians still have sex on these beds? Well, apparently they can and we’ve got British diver Tom Daley to thank for the research.

Daley's experiment proved the beds were sturdy (TikTok/ @tomdaley)

Taking to his TikTok page on July 22, Daley posted a short clip of him trying to exert as much as pressure as possible on the beds to see if they’d crack.

He jumped around. He recreated some positions. He hopped around some more just for safe measure. And lo and behold, the bed was completely fine!

“As you can see, they’re pretty sturdy,” Daley remarks in the video as his bed perfectly maintained its poise.

Now, what is any research inquiry without some peer review, so in case Daley’s findings weren’t enough, Irish gymnast Rhys McClenaghan also did some experimenting of his own.

If the beds can withhold a handstand... (Instagram/ @rhysmcc1)

Posting to his Instagram, McClenaghan took things further and actually did gymnastic moves on his bed — jumping, flipping around, the works — and the verdict? The bed survived, yet again!

“They passed the test,” he says in the video. “It’s fake news!”

So, despite the thought of the Olympics having anti-sex beds while still distributing 300,000 condoms being hilarious, apparently the athletes can still have sex on these beds and the rumors are all false.
