In the lively sanctuary at the heart of the forest, every day was full of chatter, laughter, and playful chaos. But among all the monkeys who lived there—big, small, young, and old—one stood out as the most energetic, unstoppable, and entertaining of them all. His name was Funny, a tiny monkey who seemed to be powered by pure excitement. And today, like every day, Monkey Funny was just too busy.
From the moment the sun began to rise, Funny sprang awake with a burst of enthusiasm that made even the birds blink in surprise. While other monkeys stretched lazily or clung to their mothers, Funny leaped onto a branch like he had been waiting all night for this very moment.
“Today is going to be perfect!” he squeaked to no one in particular.
His mother sighed. She knew this energy well. “Funny, slow down,” she said as he zipped around her legs. But Funny didn’t slow down. He never slowed down.
He was too busy for everything.
Too busy to sit.
Too busy to nap.
Too busy to eat properly.
Too busy to stop and think.
Funny lived life like every second was a game waiting to be played.
Morning Mission #1: The Bug Rescue
Funny’s day began with an urgent mission he had invented all by himself: Saving the bugs near the river. He raced toward the water, his little tail flicking back and forth like a metronome of chaos.
At the riverbank, a beetle flipped onto its back. Funny gasped dramatically.
“I must save you!” he shouted, even though no one else was around.
He gently poked the beetle until it flipped over. The beetle walked away calmly, not at all aware of the heroic performance that had just taken place. Funny stood proudly with his tiny chest puffed.
Another mission completed.
But there was no time to celebrate—Funny was too busy.
Morning Mission #2: Be Everywhere at Once
The sanctuary was full of little social gatherings that Funny simply had to attend.
First, he visited the group of baby monkeys practicing their tree climbing. He leaped from branch to branch dramatically, shouting, “Watch me!” and nearly falling off twice. The babies clapped (some because they thought he was funny, some because they were shocked he survived his jumps).
Then he hurried to the older monkeys who were grooming each other. Funny squeezed himself between two aunties, demanding grooming attention, only to dart away halfway through because he remembered something.
“Oh no! I forgot!” he squeaked.
What did he forget? No one knew. Not even Funny.
All they knew was that Monkey Funny was too busy.
Morning Mission #3: The Great Fruit Hunt

At mealtime, the caretakers left baskets of fresh fruit. Banana, papaya, mango, and crunchy vegetables—everything the monkeys needed.
But Funny didn’t eat like everyone else. He collected. He grabbed one banana, took one bite, then dropped it. He spotted a papaya slice, licked it once, then abandoned it. He found a carrot, inspected it, decided it wasn’t interesting, and tossed it over his shoulder.
Food wasn’t the goal. The goal was the hunt.
He zipped from basket to basket shouting, “I must find the perfect one!”
Did he ever find it?
No.
He was too busy to finish the search.
By the time he paused, he had crumbs on his cheeks, fruit stuck to his fur, and absolutely no idea what he was doing next.
Afternoon Mission #4: Helping (But Not Really)
Funny liked to believe he was very helpful. But most of his “helping” caused chaos.
When a young monkey tried to carry leaves to its nest, Funny rushed over.
“I’ll help!” he declared, grabbing a handful.
Instead of delivering the leaves, he stuffed them into his mouth, chewed once, spit them out, and ran away.
When a mother monkey tried grooming her baby, Funny popped in, groomed two hairs, got bored, and jumped onto the baby’s head like a hat.
When the caretakers cleaned the area, Funny followed closely behind, picking up sticks. Everyone thought he was helping—until he threw the sticks back onto the clean ground to use them as toys.
He wasn’t trying to make trouble.
He just forgot what he was doing.
Because Monkey Funny was too busy.
Afternoon Mission #5: The Squirrel Investigation
Funny believed he was the forest’s detective. So when he saw a squirrel dash across the branches, he immediately began his important investigation.
He chased the squirrel.
He interviewed leaves.
He sniffed trees dramatically.
He announced to a group of confused birds, “I’m on a case!”
What case?
No one knew.
Not even Funny.
But that didn’t stop him from completing his investigation with a final heroic leap off a branch—landing perfectly on a pile of soft moss.
He stood up proudly, covered in dust.
Another mission done.
At least, he thought so.
Evening Mission #6: Being Everywhere Again

As the day began to quiet down, most monkeys relaxed. They settled in branches, grooming each other or cuddling their babies.
But Funny?
He had more work to do.
He visited every single monkey in the troop:
- He poked babies to see if they were awake.
- He touched sleeping monkeys and ran away before they reacted.
- He sat on elders’ backs like a tiny king.
- He examined everyone’s food bowls even though he wasn’t hungry.
- He made funny faces at the young monkeys until they giggled.
Every visit lasted only five seconds. Funny just bounced from one monkey to the next like a living ping-pong ball.
He didn’t stay anywhere long.
He was, after all, too busy.
Evening Mission #7: The Final Adventure
Just before the sun set, Funny spotted something incredible—a falling leaf. But this wasn’t just any leaf. To Funny, it was a sign. A challenge. A mission.
He chased the leaf as it floated through the air.
He leapt for it.
Missed.
Leapt again.
Missed again.
He spun in circles, eyes glowing with excitement.
The leaf landed on his head.
Funny froze dramatically.
“I did it!” he gasped. “Another adventure completed!”
He fell on his back, exhausted from all the running, climbing, investigating, pretending, helping, not-helping, and playing. His tiny chest rose and fell rapidly as he lay in the soft grass.
His mother walked over and picked him up gently.
“Finally tired?” she asked.
Funny blinked slowly, fighting sleep.
But even then, he whispered:
“I can’t sleep… I’m too busy…”
And then he instantly fell asleep in her arms.
Monkey Funny’s Truth
Monkey Funny wasn’t really too busy with important things.
He was busy with life.
Busy with curiosity.
Busy with excitement.
Busy with joy.
Busy with every small detail of the world around him.
Some monkeys lived calmly.
Some lived quietly.
But Funny lived loudly, proudly, and beautifully.
He was chaos.
He was energy.
He was laughter.
He was the tiny heartbeat of the forest.
And even though Monkey Funny was always too busy, everyone loved him exactly as he was—wild, silly, energetic, unstoppable, and full of life.
The forest wouldn’t have been the same without him.
