The early morning sun filtered softly through the trees, painting golden lines across the small yard where Subi and Bobby were playing. The two little monkeys were full of energy as always β Subi, the curious one with sparkling eyes, and Bobby, the slightly chubbier and calmer one who loved snacks more than anything else. Today was no ordinary day for them; Dad had promised to take them out for a ride in the car!
As soon as they saw Dad walking toward the car with his keys jingling, Subi squealed with excitement, hopping on all fours toward him. Bobby, on the other hand, froze for a moment β his round belly still full from breakfast β before trotting behind Subi, grinning as if he already knew that something fun was about to happen.

βCome on, little ones!β Dad said warmly, opening the car door. His voice carried love and playfulness, something the monkeys instantly understood. Subi jumped up and clung to Dadβs arm, her little fingers wrapping tightly around his sleeve. Bobby tried to do the same but ended up clumsily slipping, landing softly on the car seat with a surprised βooh!β that made Dad laugh out loud.
Once both were inside, their eyes grew wide. The seats were soft, the windows clear, and everything around them smelled new and mysterious. Subi leaned forward, pressing her tiny hands against the glass, watching the outside world move while Bobby curiously poked at the air vents, feeling the cool breeze brush across his face.
Dad fastened his seatbelt and gently said, βAll right, my little adventurers. Are you ready?β Subi clapped her hands, and Bobby gave a small squeak of agreement. The car engine roared softly to life, and the vehicle began to move.

The monkeysβ reaction was priceless. Subi immediately held onto Bobby, her big eyes blinking rapidly as if trying to make sense of what was happening. Bobby, however, seemed to enjoy it. He leaned back comfortably, his mouth slightly open, the wind ruffling his fur. When the car picked up speed, Subi peeked out again, realizing that it wasnβt scary β it was thrilling!
Dad looked at them through the rearview mirror and smiled. βThatβs it, Subi. Brave girl. Look, Bobbyβs enjoying it too!β
Subi looked at Bobby, who was now lazily scratching his head, looking totally relaxed. Feeling reassured, she began to giggle, softly at first, then louder as she discovered the fun of watching trees and houses blur past. Bobby followed her lead, their cheerful squeaks filling the car like music.
As they drove through the countryside, Dad lowered the window just a little, letting in the cool, fresh air. Both monkeys reached out their tiny hands, feeling the wind rush past their fingers. It was like a game β the faster they went, the stronger the wind felt. Subi leaned out slightly, her hair blowing wildly, while Bobby stuck his face closer to the window, letting his cheeks puff up in the breeze.
βOkay, you two,β Dad chuckled, βnot too far out. Safety first!β

The car stopped by a small roadside park surrounded by tall trees and flowers in bloom. Dad turned off the engine, opened the door, and said, βLetβs take a break!β Subi leaped out first, landing gracefully on the grass. Bobby followed but had to take a moment to steady himself β his little legs wobbled after the bumpy ride.
The park was quiet, peaceful, and full of scents that fascinated them. Subi ran around, chasing butterflies and touching flowers, while Bobby went straight to the picnic bag, curious about what snacks Dad had brought.
Dad laughed, pulling out some bananas and a few small treats. βOf course, I knew youβd be hungry already, Bobby,β he teased, handing them each a banana. Bobbyβs eyes sparkled with joy, and he began peeling his banana clumsily, taking big bites between happy grunts. Subi nibbled hers while still exploring, occasionally running back to check if Dad was watching her.
After eating, Dad sat on a blanket, and both monkeys climbed onto his lap. Subi rested against his chest, while Bobby sat beside him, content and sleepy. Dad gently stroked their soft fur, whispering, βYou two are my little family. No matter where we go, as long as weβre together, itβs always home.β
That warmth β that bond β made even the playful Subi go quiet. She looked up at Dad, eyes filled with trust, and placed her tiny hand on his cheek. Bobby followed, wrapping his arm around Dadβs wrist. For a few moments, the three of them simply stayed there, listening to the rustling leaves and birds chirping overhead.
Soon it was time to head back. Dad lifted them gently, placing them back in the car. Subi didnβt resist this time; she jumped into her seat happily, while Bobby curled up on the soft blanket Dad had laid out for him.
As the car rolled along the familiar road home, Subi watched the world passing by with new eyes. She pointed out things to Bobby β a dog running, a group of children playing, a man selling coconuts by the road. Bobby nodded lazily, his belly full, eyelids growing heavy.
Eventually, he fell asleep, his head resting on Subiβs shoulder. Subi smiled softly, her little fingers brushing his fur, imitating how Dad always petted them. She felt like a big sister now β calm, caring, and proud.
When they reached home, Dad parked the car and turned off the engine. βWeβre home, my babies,β he said. Subi gently nudged Bobby awake. He yawned widely, stretching his arms before climbing down.
Dad opened the door, and the warm afternoon light greeted them again. Subi jumped into Dadβs arms while Bobby followed slowly, still half-asleep but clearly happy. They looked around β their home looked even cozier after such an adventure.
Before going inside, Subi turned around for one last look at the car. She chirped softly, almost as if saying thank you for the fun trip. Bobby patted the tire with his little hand and gave a lazy smile.
Inside, Dad gave them each a cuddle. βYou both did great today,β he said. βSuch brave little ones.β Subi giggled and hugged him tightly, while Bobby clung to his shirt, his eyes already drooping again.
As the evening sun faded, Subi and Bobby curled up together in their small bed. Subi whispered something soft β maybe a memory of the wind, or the laughter, or the love that surrounded them the whole day. Bobby just sighed happily and drifted into sleep.
Dad watched them from the doorway, smiling. βGoodnight, my little travelers,β he whispered. βTomorrow will be another beautiful day.β
And so, in their dreams, Subi and Bobby found themselves once again in the car β the wind in their fur, the world rolling by, and Dadβs kind laughter echoing all around them. For them, every journey with him was more than an adventure; it was a reminder that love, safety, and joy live in every moment shared together.
