Cassie was being cross-examined in the court by Diddy’s defense lawyer when the comment was allegedly made
A courtroom mic awkwardly picked up what Diddy whispered to his lawyer amid an emotional testimony by Cassie.
In case you’ve missed it, the high-profile trial of Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, commenced on Monday (May 12) as he stands accused of sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion, and racketeering among other criminal charges, all of which he denies.
This week, his former long-term partner, Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura, took to the stand for three days where she lifted the lid on what allegedly went on at Combs’ ‘freak-off’ sex parties and claimed she suffered physical violence at the hands of the rapper.
The defense then turned to cross-examine Ventura for her claims, as Combs’ attorney Anna Estevao confronted the musician with intimate text messages the pair had sent to each other throughout the duration of their 11-year relationship.

As she did so, Combs appeared to whisper something to the lawyer, which was awkwardly caught on a hot mic in the court.
The 55-year-old reportedly told Estevao he was ‘proud’ in a comment he appeared to believe would go under the radar in the New York courtroom, according to the Daily Mail.
The comment came as Estevao unearthed text messages that appeared to show Ventura loved her former boyfriend as the defense tries to suggest the ‘freak-offs’ were consensual.
While on the stand, Ventura had said she engaged in the alleged sex parties, which allegedly included her having sex with mostly male escorts, against her wishes, describing them as ‘humiliating’ while physically demanding.
In one horrifying incident, she told the court Combs instructed an escort to ‘urinate’ in her mouth, and later went on to say the parties caused an enormous physical toll on her body, ranging from ‘painful’ infections and mouth sores to frequent urinary tract infections (UTIs).
After the relationship ended, Ventura said she had PTSD and needed ‘trauma therapy’ due to the alleged abuse.
Cross-examining her on Thursday (May 15), Estevao read out a 2017 text message Ventura had allegedly sent to Combs which read: “Please don’t play victim. That’s all you wanted and that’s why I was upset. I love our FOs [freak-offs] when we both want it.”

In another heated exchange, she asked: “You and Mr Combs were in love for 11 years, right?”
To which Ventura replied: “Yeah.”
Estevao pressed: “You loved him?” to which Ventura said: “I did.”
When she was asked if she believed the rapper had loved her, Ventura said: “Yes.”
It was at this point where the three-time Grammys Award winner praised his attorney for the interrogation.
Among other notable parts from the courtroom were Ventura’s claim that Combs was addicted to opiates and regularly used ecstasy, MDMA, and cocaine, recalling one incident at the Playboy Mansion in 2012 where she said he allegedly overdosed.
Ventura also told the court that Combs sometimes expressed concern for her own mental health and once suggested she see a doctor after noticing side effects from drug use.
UNILAD has previously contacted representatives for Combs and Ventura for comment.
The trial continues.

Cassie reveals what she thought when Diddy asked her to join ‘freak off’ party for first time as she describes shocking details

Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura told a Manhattan courtroom yesterday (May 13) that she felt ‘confused and nervous’ when ex-boyfriend Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs allegedly invited her to join in on one of his infamous ‘Freak Off’ parties.
The trial of 55-year-old Combs, also known as his aliases Diddy, P Diddy and Puff Daddy, began in New York on May 12, where he faces charges of racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution.
The Bad Boy Records founder, who once served as the Notorious B.I.G.’s manager, is accused of having ‘abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfil his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct’ from at least 2008.

It’s also alleged in a 14-page legal indictment that the father-of-seven held ‘Freak Off’ parties where prosecutors claim both male and female victims were induced into drug-fuelled, sexual performances.
If found guilty, the three-time Grammy winner faces up to life in prison if the jury convicts him on the racketeering charge.
He also faces a minimum sentence of 15 years for sex trafficking, and a maximum of 10 years behind bars for transportation of prostitution, if found guilty by the jury.
Combs, who was arrested at the Park Hyatt hotel last September, has repeatedly denied claims against him and is continuing to plead not guilty to the charges.
On the second day of the trial (May 13), Combs’s ex-girlfriend and American singer Cassie Ventura, 38, took to the witness box.
The ‘Long Way 2 Go’ singer, who was in a relationship with Combs between 2007 and 2018, told the courtroom how she was just 22 when she was allegedly asked to participate in a ‘Freak Off’ party for the first time.
She told the jury she was ‘confused and nervous’ about the event, claiming: “I just remember my stomach falling to my butt.”

Ventura said she felt as if she couldn’t refuse her boyfriend, alleging she ‘didn’t know what ‘no’ could be, or what ‘no’ could turn into’ and that ‘[Combs] controlled a lot of [her] life’.
“Sean is a really polarizing person; he was charming,” Ventura said. “It’s hard to really be able to determine what you need when he’s telling you what he wants. I just didn’t know. I didn’t know what would happen.”
The Associated Press reports that Ventura feared videos of the ‘Freak Offs’ would eventually find their way to the internet.
It’s also said Combs would call her ‘predictable’ for not wanting to take part in the events that left her feeling ‘disgusting’ and ‘humiliated’, as per CBS News.
“The freak offs became a job. There was no time to do anything else but do them then try to recover,” she continued, before telling Assistant United States Attorney Emily Johnson the longest event took place over ‘four days’.
On the second day of the trial, surveillance footage of Combs beating the hitmaker inside a Los Angeles hotel in March 2016 was played to the courtroom.
The outlet reports that the video depicted Ventura with a bag at the hotel’s elevators and sees Combs rounding a corner before striking her and throwing her to the ground.
The footage then saw the accused kicking his ex-girlfriend before dragging her back toward their hotel room.
Defense lawyers had unsuccessfully tried before the trial commenced to get the video banned from court.

However, prosecutors maintain the video is a piece of evidence in the case against Combs.
It’s understood that three hotel surveillance videos and two cellphone videos were shown to the 12-person jury inside the Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse in New York City.
Ventura’s testimony comes after she alleged in a bombshell lawsuit in November 2023 that Combs had trafficked, sexually assaulted and physically abused her during their long-term relationship.
A day after the filing, the two ‘amicably’ settled the lawsuit, with USA Today reporting the hip-hop mogul’s team alluded to a ‘substantial eight-figure settlement’ in court documents.

Cassie details ‘traumatizing’ final interactions with Diddy after she ended their ‘abusive’ 10-year relationship
Cassie Ventura alleges Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs came to her apartment and raped her after she broke things off.
Warning: This article contains discussion of domestic violence, sexual assault, rape and attempted suicide which some readers may find distressing.
Cassie Ventura has alleged Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs raped her after she broke off their decade-long relationship alongside
Sean Combs is currently on trial after being charged with racketeering conspiracy, two charges of sex trafficking and two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution after he was indicted by a grand jury and arrested in September 2024 – with the rapper having denied all charges.
R&B singer and dancer Cassie – real name Casandra Ventura – a former partner of Combs, has been called to the stand to testify as part of the 55-year-old’s trial – which began on May 12.
Ventura first came forward in November 2023, filing a sexual abuse lawsuit in Federal District Court in Manhattan alleging Combs ‘frequently beat’ and also raped her in 2018 – which Combs ‘vehemently denied’ at the time.
However, around 24 hours later, it was revealed Ventura and Combs had reached a settlement – withVentura accepting a hefty settlement sum.
During the second day of testimony at Comb’s sex trafficking trial, Ventura once more alleged Combs came to her house and raped her alongside detailing other incidents which allegedly happened around the time she broke things off with him.

Ventura said on the stand that Combs’ came to [her] house and ‘raped [her] on [her] living room floor’.
“His eyes were black. It was like taking something from you,” she said.
The singer described Combs ‘continuing’ despite her crying and after he ‘finished’ he ‘got up and left’.
“I just remember crying and saying no, but it was very fast,” she said.
Ventura allegedly added in August 2018 the pair were ‘having a closure conversation at a restaurant in Malibu’ and Combs tried to ‘convince’ her to go to Burning Man.
The pair also messaged each other, with Ventura noting she ‘checked in’ with Combs who allegedly said he had ‘iPads full of images’ and wanted her to ‘get him his money’.
She also claimed as a result of ‘Sean coming around a lot’ she kept a knife close to her – a photograph of a knife and her front door ‘in 2018’ was shown to the courts.

Ventura noted she did go on to later have consensual sex with the rapper at a later time but reflected: “We’d been together for over 10 years. You just don’t turn feelings off.”
As a result of not only this but also the alleged ‘freak offs’ and other incidents, Ventura noted that ‘it’s much deeper than iPads’ and there ‘was abuse, more than freak offs’, and she was left feeling suicidal and ultimately sought ‘trauma therapy’.
Ventura said: “There was a time I couldn’t take the pain, tried to walk out in traffic. My husband wouldn’t let me. I had trauma therapy.”
She added she also experienced ‘PTSD’ and ended up ‘sleepwalking’.

Guest at Diddy’s parties reveals one signal that was used to tell ‘people to leave’
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ parties allegedly shifted at a certain point in the night and one guest says there was a ‘signal’ to watch out for
A person who claims to have attended one of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ parties has spoken out about a move ‘girls’ would do which would see certain people leave the party.
The 54-year-old rapper was arrested and charged with racketeering and sex trafficking earlier this month.
Multiple people have since come forward claiming to have attended one of his infamous parties, revealing what they allegedly saw.

A resurfaced clip of Combs shows him on Late Night with Conan O’Brien in 2002 talking about not only needing alcohol but ‘water’ at parties because otherwise the ‘ladies’ are ‘gonna leave,’ adding you ‘gotta keep [the ladies] there’ and ‘locks on the doors’.
YouTuber Jeff Wittek has taken to social media opening up about what he saw when he allegedly attended one of the rapper’s parties and a singer has also spoken out about her experiences. The singer alleged there was a locked door and there were ‘two different parties’ going on at the event, one which she ‘would be asked to join later’.
And another person has since spoken out about the alleged second half of the night at one of Combs’ events.

Claiming to have attended one of Diddy’s ‘White Parties’ between 2006 and 2011, a source told Us Weekly there was a way to tell when some members of the party were meant to start getting their belongings together and leaving a select few behind.
They said the signal would typically occur around two or three in the morning and would see a shift in what sort of event it was.
They said: “Girls would start to lose their clothes – that was the signal for people to leave.”
They added that’s when drugs would allegedly be brought out and claim the rest of the night would last until around 7:00am.
Combs’ indictment claims the rapper would orchestrate events known as ‘Freak Offs’.

The document accuses the rapper of having ‘transported commercial sex workers across state lines and internationally’ and ‘then used force, threats of force, and coercion, to cause victims to engage in extended sex acts with male commercial sex workers’.
It continues: “Combs subjected victims to physical, emotional, and verbal abuse to cause the victims to engage in Freak Offs. Combs maintained control over his victims through, among other things, physical violence, promises of career opportunities, granting and threatening to withhold financial support, and by other coercive means, including tracking their whereabouts, dictating the victims’ appearance, monitoring their medical records, controlling their housing, and supplying them with controlled substances.”
Combs has continued to deny the charges and all accusations against him.

50 Cent has been speaking out against Diddy since 2006
50 Cent has opened up about the accusations Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs faces noting it’s ‘really’ just what he’s been ‘saying for 10 years’.
Sean Combs was arrested on September 16 and later charged with racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion – charges he’s continuously denied.
A further 120 people have since come forward accusing the rapper of sexual misconduct and others who claim to have attended one of the 54-year-old’s ‘Freak Off’ parties have spoken out too.

What has 50 Cent said about Diddy?
50 Cent – real name Curtis James Jackson III – has long spoken out about Combs, making comments about the rapper within music alongside multiple posts to social media.
In 2006, 50 Cent accused Combs of knowing more than he let on about the murder of rapper The Notorious B.I.G. – Christopher Wallace – in diss track ‘The Bomb’.
When footage showing Combs physically assaulting then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel in 2016 was released onto social media earlier this year, 50 Cent wrote on his Twitter page: “Now I’m sure puffy didn’t do it, he is innocent this proves nothing! This is what his lawyers are gonna say, God help us all.”
50 Cent also shared a picture of a statement released by Combs denying allegations of sex trafficking, sex abuse and rape, writing: “The lie detector test has determined this was a lie…”
When Combs’ homes were raided by authorities, 50 Cent took to Twitter once again to note: “Now it’s not Diddy do it, it’s Diddy done. They don’t come like that unless they got a case.”
And 50 Cent has since doubled down on why he’s always publicly spoken out about Combs.

In an interview with People, the rapper said: “Look, it seems like I’m doing some extremely outrageous things, but I haven’t. It’s really me just saying what I’ve been saying for 10 years.
“Now it’s becoming more full-facing in the news with the Puffy stuff, but away from that, I’m like, ‘Yo, it’s just my perspective because I stayed away from that stuff the entire time, because this is not my style.’”
50 Cent’s team has also revealed the rapper is even set to make a documentary about Combs.

50 Cent’s upcoming Diddy documentary
50 Cent and director Alexandria Stapleton said in a statement to the outlet the documentary’s ‘complex narrative’ will span ‘decades’ and won’t just center around the ‘headlines or clips seen so far’.
He added: “We remain steadfast in our commitment to give a voice to the voiceless and to present authentic and nuanced perspectives.
“While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’s story is not the full story of hip hop and its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions.”
In the latest statement to UNILAD, Combs’ legal representatives said: “As Mr. Combs’ legal team has emphasised, he cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus.
“That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors. He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”Featured Image Credit: Paras Griffin/Getty Images/Shareif Ziyadat/Getty Images for Sean “Diddy” Combs
