In the heart of the forest, where the sunlight filtered through the thick canopy and the air was filled with the sound of chirping birds, the monkey family was starting another beautiful day. CUTIS, the clever and playful monkey, was up early as usual, swinging from tree to tree, always full of energy and mischievous ideas. Nearby, Baby monkey was trying to copy CUTIS’ moves but ended up tumbling into a pile of leaves, giggling with innocent joy.
Dad monkey sat high on a sturdy branch, watching his two little troublemakers. His eyes were half-closed, a calm smile on his face, but deep down, he was always ready to jump in when CUTIS or Baby monkey got into trouble — which happened almost every day. Today, though, none of them could have imagined that CUTIS was about to do something so unbelievable it would make even serious Dad burst out laughing with delight.
The morning started as usual. Baby monkey followed CUTIS everywhere, imitating every move. When CUTIS scratched his ear, Baby scratched his too. When CUTIS swung from one branch to another, Baby tried — but ended up hanging upside down, squealing for help. CUTIS, being the big brother figure, quickly came to the rescue, lifting Baby up and placing him safely on the branch again.
But CUTIS wasn’t just any monkey — he was famous in the forest for his clever tricks and unusual ways of thinking. He had a knack for surprising everyone with his creativity. Whether it was stealing fruit from the birds without them noticing or finding the best hiding spots during playtime, CUTIS always had something up his sleeve.

That day, something caught his eye — a big, juicy mango hanging from a branch far above the ground. The problem? The branch was thin and wobbly, far too risky for a small monkey like Baby. Dad monkey had already warned everyone not to go near it. “That branch can’t hold your weight,” he had said firmly.
But Baby monkey’s eyes sparkled with curiosity and desire. He looked at CUTIS, then at the mango, then back at CUTIS again. It was clear what he wanted.
CUTIS grinned — that mischievous grin that meant he was about to do something crazy. He looked at Baby, winked, and whispered, “Don’t worry, I’ll get it for you.”
Baby clapped his tiny hands in excitement, trusting CUTIS completely.
Now CUTIS had a challenge — to get that mango for Baby monkey without breaking the branch or getting in trouble with Dad. He sat quietly for a moment, scratching his chin, deep in thought. Then suddenly, he jumped up with a sparkle in his eyes — he had an idea!
He quickly gathered a few vines lying nearby. Baby watched curiously as CUTIS tied the vines together into a long, stretchy rope. “What are you doing?” Baby asked.
CUTIS winked again. “Just wait and see!”

He tied one end of the vine to a nearby sturdy branch and made a loop at the other end. Then, taking a deep breath, he leapt toward the mango tree, swinging like a professional acrobat. The vines stretched and wobbled, but CUTIS held on tight. When he got close enough, he grabbed the mango, twisted it off the branch, and swung back safely to where Baby was waiting.
Baby’s eyes widened in amazement. “Wowww! CUTIS, you did it!” he squealed.
But CUTIS wasn’t done yet. He looked at the mango, then at Baby, and suddenly had another idea — one that would make Dad laugh harder than he had in years.
CUTIS peeled the mango carefully, scooped out the juicy part, and used the empty peel as a funny little “helmet” for Baby. He placed it gently on Baby’s head and said, “There you go, little warrior! Now you’re the Mango King!”
Baby monkey looked up at him with the mango peel sliding down his face, covering half his eyes. For a second, Baby looked confused — and then, as if realizing how funny he looked, he started jumping up and down, waving his tiny hands, shouting, “Mango King! Mango King!”
CUTIS laughed so hard he almost fell off the branch. But the real show started when Dad monkey, hearing all the noise, came over to check what was going on.

“What’s all this shouting about—” he began, but then he stopped mid-sentence.
Right in front of him was Baby monkey, proudly wearing the mango peel like a royal crown, holding a tiny stick like a scepter, and CUTIS standing beside him, bowing dramatically. “Your Majesty, the Mango King requests your presence!” CUTIS announced in a deep, exaggerated voice.
Dad monkey stared for a moment — then burst into laughter so loud that the birds nearby flew away in surprise. He laughed until tears formed in his eyes, holding his belly and gasping for breath.
“Oh CUTIS,” Dad said between laughs, “you never fail to surprise me! You made your brother a king out of a mango peel! That’s unbelievable!”
CUTIS grinned proudly, and Baby puffed up his chest, proud of his new royal title. “I’m King Mango!” he shouted again, making Dad laugh even harder.
For the rest of the afternoon, CUTIS and Baby played their royal game. CUTIS became the loyal knight, bringing “gifts” to the King — mostly fruits, leaves, and flowers — while Baby sat on a tree stump pretending it was his throne. Every now and then, Dad would look over, shaking his head with amusement but smiling all the same.
Even the other animals started gathering to watch the funny scene. A few squirrels brought nuts as an offering to the “King.” A curious parrot repeated, “King Mango! King Mango!” and everyone burst into laughter.

As the sun began to set, the golden light bathed the forest in warmth. CUTIS climbed up next to Dad, both of them watching Baby monkey still wearing his mango crown, now half-eaten by insects but still worn with pride.
“You really love making him happy, don’t you?” Dad said softly.
CUTIS smiled. “He’s just a baby. He looks up to me. If a silly mango crown makes him smile, then it’s worth it.”
Dad looked at CUTIS proudly, a gentle laugh escaping him again. “Unbelievable, CUTIS. You always find a way to turn simple things into joy. You made all of us laugh today.”
CUTIS grinned and shrugged. “Maybe laughter is the best kind of fruit, Dad.”
Dad chuckled, wrapping his arm around CUTIS. “That it is, my boy. That it is.”
As night fell, the forest grew quiet except for the soft rustle of leaves. Baby monkey curled up beside CUTIS, his little mango peel crown resting beside him. Dad lay nearby, still smiling from the memory of the day.

CUTIS looked up at the twinkling stars and whispered to himself, “Maybe tomorrow I’ll do something even more unbelievable.”
And with that thought, he drifted off to sleep — the clever monkey who could turn even a simple mango into a moment of laughter and love.
The forest slept peacefully that night, still echoing with the joy CUTIS had brought. After all, in a world full of surprises, sometimes the most unbelievable acts are the ones that come straight from the heart — and CUTIS had just proved that once again.
Dad’s laughter still lingered in the trees, and Baby monkey’s tiny giggles danced in the breeze — a reminder that sometimes, the simplest gestures create the happiest memories. And in that moment, CUTIS was not just clever — he was the heart of his little family. ❤️🐒😂
