The morning sun peeked through the wooden shutters of the little house where CUTIS lived. CUTIS, the playful golden-furred monkey, was already wide awake and bubbling with excitement. Today wasn’t just any day—it was the day he had decided to do something no one had ever seen before: a funny makeup show that would leave everyone laughing until their bellies hurt.
CUTIS had always been full of tricks and ideas. He liked helping his dad in the garden, running errands, and taking care of the baby monkeys, but he also had a special love for making everyone laugh. He believed laughter was the best medicine, especially when things got too serious around the farm. So when he found an old box of face paints, brushes, and colorful powders tucked away in a corner of the attic, his imagination went wild.
“Today,” CUTIS declared, holding the box high in the air like a treasure chest, “I will make the most unbelievable funny makeup ever! Watch me, and laugh until your cheeks hurt!”
The Preparation
First, CUTIS set up his “studio” under the big mango tree. He placed a mirror, some bowls of water, the colorful powders, and even borrowed a few bright scarves from Dad’s laundry line. Several baby monkeys—Bibi, Lala, and Kevin—came running over when they saw the setup.
“What are you doing, CUTIS?” asked Bibi, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
“Something very special,” CUTIS replied with a grin. “Today, I’ll transform myself into the funniest, strangest, most unbelievable character you’ve ever seen!”
The little ones clapped their hands and jumped in excitement. Lala quickly found a drum and began beating it as though announcing the beginning of a grand show. Kevin picked up a bunch of banana leaves to wave like fans. The stage was set, and the audience was ready.
The First Attempt
CUTIS dipped a brush into red powder and painted a big, round circle on each cheek. He then used blue powder to make a giant unibrow across his forehead. With green paint, he drew zigzags around his mouth that looked like monster teeth.
“Ta-da!” CUTIS announced, turning around to face the crowd.
The baby monkeys gasped, then burst into laughter. Bibi fell backward, holding his belly. Lala clapped so hard she dropped her drum. Kevin shouted, “CUTIS, you look like a silly rainbow monster!”
CUTIS grinned proudly, but he wasn’t done yet. “This is only the beginning!” he declared.
The Experiments
Next, CUTIS experimented with new styles. He dipped his hands into yellow powder and smeared them all over his face, making himself look like a glowing sun. Then he took some white paint and drew two big circles around his eyes, like owl glasses. He tied one of Dad’s scarves around his head, tilted it sideways, and puffed his chest out like a royal king.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” CUTIS said in a deep voice, “I present to you… King Banana the Great!”
The crowd howled with laughter again. Even Dad, who had come outside to see what all the noise was about, couldn’t help but chuckle.
But CUTIS wasn’t finished. He decided to make each makeup style crazier than the last. He made a clown face with a big red smile stretching from ear to ear. He painted black stripes on his cheeks and pretended to be a tiger. He even drew little pink hearts all over his forehead and posed sweetly like a princess.
Every time he turned around to reveal his new face, the audience screamed with laughter.
The Grand Finale
After all the funny styles and silly accidents, CUTIS knew he had to end with something unforgettable. He took a deep breath, dipped his hands into several colors at once, and began smearing them across his face in swirling patterns. He painted spirals on his cheeks, stars on his forehead, and stripes down his chin. Then he balanced a banana on his head like a crown and wrapped three scarves around his shoulders like a cape.
When he turned to face the crowd, he struck a dramatic pose and declared:
“Behold! The most unbelievable special ever! I am the Magical Monkey of a Thousand Faces!”
The little monkeys screamed with joy. Bibi laughed so hard he rolled in the dirt. Lala beat her drum like it was a victory parade. Kevin shouted, “CUTIS, you’re the funniest monkey in the whole world!”
Even Dad clapped, shaking his head with amusement. “CUTIS, you really know how to turn a normal day into something special,” he said warmly.
The Aftermath
By the time the show ended, CUTIS’s fur was sticky, colorful, and very messy. He looked more like a painting than a monkey. Dad had to give him a long bath to wash off all the colors. The water in the tub turned rainbow-colored, which made everyone laugh all over again.
As Dad scrubbed him clean, CUTIS chuckled. “Did you see their faces, Dad? They couldn’t stop laughing! I told you I’d do something unbelievable.”
Dad nodded with a smile. “You did, CUTIS. You reminded everyone how wonderful laughter can be.”
When CUTIS finally came out of the bath, clean and fluffy again, the baby monkeys were still giggling about his silly faces and funny costumes. They begged him to do another makeup show soon. CUTIS promised, but he also winked. “Next time, I’ll make it even more special. You’ll laugh harder than ever before.”
The Lesson
That night, as the little monkeys drifted off to sleep, CUTIS thought about the day’s adventure. He realized something important: it wasn’t just about painting his face or making himself look funny. It was about sharing happiness with the ones he loved. His silly makeup had brought joy, laughter, and togetherness to everyone.
And CUTIS knew that was the most special thing of all.
