The morning sun peeked through the curtains of the newly painted living room, casting golden light across the floor. Lala skipped into the room with sparkling eyes, her heart beating fast with excitement. Today was the day she had been waiting for—a big shopping trip with Dad to buy appliances for their brand-new house.
“Dad! Are you ready? We can’t be late!” she called, her voice filled with energy.
Dad appeared with his usual calm smile, holding the car keys in one hand and a list in the other. “I’m ready, little helper. But we must stick to the list. We don’t want to buy too much.”
Lala giggled and twirled around. “Don’t worry, Dad. I’ll help you choose the best things. Our house is going to look amazing!”
The Big Shopping Trip
The drive to the store was filled with chatter. Lala imagined how their new home would shine once the appliances were in place. When they arrived at the appliance center, she gasped. The place looked like a giant playground of shiny machines—refrigerators lined up like silver soldiers, washing machines with round glass doors, ovens that gleamed like treasure chests.
Dad pushed the cart while Lala darted around, pointing at everything.
“Look at that fridge, Dad! It has a water dispenser! And that one even has a screen!”
Dad chuckled. “Yes, but let’s find something practical and reliable. Remember, the house needs things that will last.”
They stopped by the refrigerators first. Lala pressed her little hand against the cool surface of a tall, stainless steel model. “This one is perfect! It’s big enough for all the cakes and ice cream I love.”
Dad nodded thoughtfully. “It does look good. And it’s energy efficient. Okay, fridge—check!”
Next was the washing machine. Lala crouched down and peered through the glass door of a front-loader. “It looks like a spaceship window! Can we watch clothes spinning inside when it works?”
“Exactly,” Dad said, lifting her up so she could see the buttons. “This will save us time and water. Washing machine—check!”
They moved through the aisles, picking out a microwave, a rice cooker, a blender, and even a vacuum cleaner. Lala made dramatic comments about each one:
“This blender will make smoothies for hot afternoons!”
“This rice cooker will give us warm, fluffy rice every day!”
“This vacuum is like a robot knight—it will fight dust for us!”
Dad laughed so much that other shoppers turned and smiled at the father-daughter duo.

Returning Home
By the time they loaded the car, the trunk was packed tightly with boxes. Lala sat in the back seat, hugging the blender box as if it were a toy. “I can’t wait to open everything. It’s like Christmas!”
When they reached the new house, the living room floor quickly filled with boxes of different sizes. Dad brought out a pair of scissors, and Lala clapped her hands. “Unboxing time!”
The Joy of Unboxing
The first box to open was the refrigerator. Lala helped pull away the tape and peel off the cardboard panels. Slowly, the shiny surface was revealed. She gasped as though she were meeting a new friend.
“It’s beautiful!” she said, running her hand over the smooth door. “Can we put magnets on it, Dad?”
“Of course,” Dad replied. “It’s not just an appliance—it’s also a board for your artwork.”
They moved on to the washing machine. With a bit of effort, Dad lifted it into its corner, while Lala carefully placed the manual on top. “This one is going to work very hard for us,” she said seriously, as though welcoming a worker into the family.
The microwave and rice cooker came next. Lala pretended she was a cooking show host as she pulled the microwave out of the box. “Welcome to Lala’s Kitchen! Today we have a brand-new microwave, perfect for popcorn!”
Dad clapped and laughed. “That’s the spirit! You’ll be the star of the kitchen.”
The blender box was Lala’s favorite. She opened it gently, lifted out the glass jar, and held it up like a trophy. “I’m going to make banana smoothies for everyone!”
Finally, the vacuum cleaner was unboxed. Lala turned it on, and the sudden whoosh of air startled her. She squealed and ran in circles while the vacuum followed behind, guided by Dad. “It’s alive! The robot knight is fighting dust already!” she shouted with delight.

Building the New Home Together
After hours of arranging the appliances in the kitchen and living room, the house began to feel alive. The once-empty spaces were now filled with tools that promised comfort, meals, and warmth.
Dad wiped his forehead and looked at the progress. “Our home is coming together nicely.”
Lala leaned against the fridge, smiling proudly. “It’s not just a house anymore, Dad. It’s really our home now.”
They plugged in the rice cooker and tested it by making a small batch of rice. While the rice cooked, Lala prepared bananas and milk in the blender. Together, they enjoyed their first homemade meal in the new house: fresh rice with sweet banana smoothies.
A Special Moment
That evening, as the sun dipped low and the kitchen glowed with its first warm light, Lala sat on Dad’s lap. She looked around at the appliances, each one standing proudly in its place.
“Dad,” she whispered, “thank you for letting me help. I feel like I built this house with you.”
Dad hugged her tightly. “You did, Lala. Every choice, every box we opened—you were part of it. This home belongs to both of us.”
The moment was simple, yet it was one they both knew they would never forget. The unboxing of appliances was not just about machines. It was about love, teamwork, and building memories.

The First Night in the New Home
Before bedtime, Lala made one final inspection. She touched the fridge, checked the washing machine, and peeked at the rice cooker still warm from earlier. Satisfied, she returned to Dad.
“All our new friends are ready,” she said.
Dad chuckled. “Yes, they are. Now, let’s rest. Tomorrow, we’ll start living in this house for real.”
As they curled up in their new rooms, the hum of the refrigerator filled the quiet house. To Lala, it sounded like a lullaby—a promise of many happy days ahead in their cozy new home.
