Lele shows off his skills

Lele was a small boy with bright eyes, quick hands, and endless energy. Everyone in his neighborhood knew him as “the curious one,” because he always wanted to try new things. Whether it was fixing a toy, climbing a tree, or balancing on one foot for as long as he could, Lele never shied away from a challenge. But today was special—today, Lele wanted to show everyone the skills he had been practicing in secret.

It all started one morning when Lele was watching his father repair a broken chair. His father moved carefully, measuring the wood, hammering in nails, and smoothing the edges with sandpaper. Lele admired how patient and precise he was. He thought to himself, I want to be skilled like that too. I want to do something amazing that makes everyone proud.

So Lele began practicing. Sometimes he copied what his father did, learning how to hold a hammer or twist a screwdriver. Other times, he invented his own challenges. He tried balancing rocks on top of one another, building tall towers from blocks, and even practicing little tricks with his soccer ball. Slowly, he got better and better.

Preparing for the Big Day

One Saturday morning, the neighborhood children gathered in the yard to play. Some rode bicycles, some played catch, while others sat in the shade drawing on scraps of paper. Lele, however, had a different idea. He wanted to show his friends what he had been working on.

“Hey everyone!” he called out, his face glowing with excitement. “Do you want to see something cool?”

The children stopped what they were doing and turned to him. “What is it, Lele?” asked Mila, his best friend.

“You’ll see,” Lele said with a grin. He had been practicing three different skills: balancing, juggling, and a little performance he called “Lele’s Surprise Trick.” Today, he would try them all.

Skill One: The Balance Master

Lele carried a wooden board he had found in the shed and placed it across a round log. It was something like a see-saw, but much narrower. He climbed onto it carefully, one foot at a time. The board wobbled, and the kids gasped.

“Careful, Lele!” shouted Tom, the oldest boy.

But Lele spread his arms wide, bent his knees, and focused. Slowly, he found his balance. He shifted left, then right, keeping the board steady.

“I call this my balance challenge!” Lele declared proudly.

The kids clapped as he managed to stay upright. Then, to make it harder, he picked up a stick and raised it high while balancing on the board. Everyone cheered.

“You’re like a tightrope walker!” Mila laughed.

Lele jumped off with a smile. His heart pounded with pride—he had done it!

Skill Two: The Juggling Show

“Now for the next one,” Lele said, reaching into his bag. He pulled out three tennis balls.

The kids leaned closer. “You’re not going to juggle, are you?” asked Sam, wide-eyed.

“Yes, I am,” Lele replied with confidence.

He had practiced this for weeks. At first, he kept dropping the balls, but slowly he learned the rhythm—throw, catch, throw, catch. Now he wanted to prove he could do it in front of everyone.

Lele tossed the first ball, then the second, then the third. For a moment, the balls flew smoothly between his hands. The children gasped in amazement.

“One, two, three, four!” Mila counted aloud as Lele kept the balls in the air.

For nearly ten seconds, everything went perfectly. Then one ball slipped and rolled away. The kids burst into laughter, but it wasn’t mean laughter—it was cheerful and encouraging.

“That was amazing, Lele!” said Tom. “I can’t even juggle two!”

Lele picked up the ball and bowed dramatically. “Thank you, thank you! But wait—there’s one more.”

Skill Three: Lele’s Surprise Trick

The children gathered in a circle as Lele prepared for his final act. He placed a chair in the middle of the yard and climbed onto it.

“This is something I call ‘Lele’s Surprise Trick!’” he announced proudly.

He held the three tennis balls again, stood tall on the chair, and took a deep breath. Then, in one smooth motion, he tossed the balls into the air, balanced on one foot, and caught them again before hopping down with a spin.

The children clapped and cheered wildly. “Wow!” shouted Mila. “You’re incredible!”

Lele grinned from ear to ear. His cheeks were red, his hands a little shaky, but inside, he felt like the happiest boy in the world.

The Adults Take Notice

All the noise drew the attention of the adults nearby. Lele’s father came out of the house, curious to see what was happening. “What’s going on here?” he asked.

“Lele showed us his skills!” the children shouted in unison.

Lele’s father looked at him with surprise. “Oh? Let’s see, then.”

Although Lele felt nervous with his father watching, he wanted to prove himself. He repeated the balance challenge, juggled the balls again, and finished with his surprise trick.

When he was done, his father laughed warmly and clapped his hands. “Bravo, Lele! You’ve been practicing hard, haven’t you?”

Lele nodded proudly. “Yes, Papa. I wanted to be good at something, just like you.”

His father knelt down and patted his shoulder. “Son, you already are good at something—you’re good at trying, learning, and never giving up. That’s the best skill of all.”

A Lesson for Everyone

From that day on, the neighborhood kids often asked Lele to show them how to balance or juggle. He happily taught them, patient and encouraging. Some learned quickly, others struggled, but Lele always said, “It’s okay. I dropped the balls a hundred times before I got it right. The secret is to keep going.”

Soon, they created little performances together, each child showing their own special ability. Mila drew colorful posters, Tom rode his bike in daring loops, and Sam sang songs. Lele’s idea had inspired everyone to discover and share their skills.

Lele’s Pride

That night, as Lele sat at the dinner table, his father said, “I heard you impressed the whole neighborhood today.”

Lele blushed. “I just wanted to try.”

His father smiled. “You didn’t just try—you succeeded. And more than that, you gave your friends confidence too. That’s a true talent.”

Lele thought about it as he ate his dinner. He realized that showing off his skills wasn’t just about proving what he could do. It was about sharing joy, inspiring others, and reminding everyone that practice and patience could turn small efforts into great achievements.

As he drifted off to sleep that night, Lele dreamed of bigger stages and brighter lights—not because he wanted fame, but because he wanted to keep making people smile. And deep down, he knew one thing for sure:

Lele would always keep learning, always keep practicing, and always keep showing off his skills—because that was who he was.
