Bibi was an ordinary boy in many ways. He had a bright smile, a curious heart, and a habit of asking endless questions about the world. But there was one thing that made Bibi special—his kindness. No matter how small or big a creature was, Bibi’s heart always had space for them.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, Bibi walked home from school, his bag slung over his shoulders. The smell of roasted peanuts from a nearby stall filled the air, and children laughed as they played along the dusty road. As he passed an alley, he heard a faint whimpering sound. He stopped, listening carefully.

Curious, Bibi stepped into the narrow alley, where he found a thin, golden-furred dog curled up against the cold brick wall. Its ribs stuck out from its body, and its eyes, full of sadness, met Bibi’s. The boy’s heart ached at the sight.
“Oh, you poor thing,” he whispered, kneeling beside the dog. It flinched at first but then relaxed when Bibi reached out a gentle hand. He stroked its head softly.
Bibi looked around, hoping someone nearby could tell him about the dog, but the alley was empty. The dog was all alone.
“I can’t leave you like this,” Bibi said. He pulled out the small snack he had saved from school—a piece of bread—and offered it to the dog. The animal hesitated before sniffing and then hungrily gobbling up the food.

Bibi knew his parents wouldn’t allow him to bring the dog home. His family was already struggling, and they barely had enough for themselves. But he couldn’t just walk away.
“I’ll be back,” he promised, stroking the dog’s head one last time before running home.
That night, as Bibi lay in bed, he thought about the poor golden dog alone in the alley. Had it eaten anything else? Was it cold? Was it scared? The questions swirled in his mind, making it hard for him to fall asleep.
When he finally drifted off, the dog appeared in his dreams. It stood in a field of golden grass, its tail wagging happily. The wind blew gently, and the sun bathed the world in a warm glow. The dog barked and ran toward Bibi, licking his face joyfully.
“You remembered me,” the dog seemed to say, its eyes filled with gratitude.
Bibi woke up suddenly, his heart pounding. It was just a dream, but it felt real. He knew he couldn’t ignore the dog.
The next morning, Bibi packed an extra slice of bread in his school bag. During lunch, instead of eating his share, he wrapped it carefully. On his way home, he rushed to the alley, hoping to find the dog again.
