The morning sun filtered through the soft curtains of the little garden house, casting golden patterns on the floor. Lala sat on the wooden bench, holding a small basket of fresh flowers she had picked just a while ago. Her heart was restless, her thoughts racing. Today was not just any day—it was the day she would finally meet CEO Kien again after many long days apart.
For Lala, those days had felt like years. Every morning she would wait, watching the road, hoping his familiar figure would appear at the gate. She missed his warm smile, his gentle voice, and the way he always seemed to bring laughter into the house, no matter how tired he was from work. The garden, the kitchen, even the big oak tree where they once sat talking—all seemed incomplete without him.
When CEO Kien was away on a long business trip, Lala tried to keep herself busy. She watered the flowers, cooked meals, and spent time with her little friends in the neighborhood. Yet no matter how full her days were, the quiet moments always came, reminding her how much she longed for his return. At night, she often looked at the stars and whispered, “Come back soon, Kien. I miss you.”
Finally, the day had arrived. News came that CEO Kien would return this morning. Lala’s joy was so overwhelming she barely slept. She woke early, tidied the house, and even prepared his favorite tea. The anticipation made her hands tremble as she arranged the flowers on the table.
The sound of an approaching car made her heart race. She quickly rushed to the window, her eyes widening as she saw a familiar silhouette step out. It was him—CEO Kien, tall and graceful, his presence commanding yet comforting. His eyes lit up the moment they landed on her, as if no distance or time had ever come between them.
Without thinking twice, Lala ran out to the yard. Her little feet carried her as fast as they could until she reached him. “Kien!” she cried out, her voice breaking with happiness.
Kien barely had time to put down his suitcase before Lala wrapped her arms around him tightly. Tears of joy filled her eyes, streaming down her cheeks. “I missed you so much,” she whispered, her voice trembling with relief.
Kien gently placed a hand on her head, smiling warmly. “I missed you too, Lala. Every day I was away, I thought about you. Finally, I’m home.”

The two stood in the embrace for a long moment, letting the weight of the days apart melt away. For Lala, it felt like a dream come true, like the world had suddenly regained its color.
They walked inside together, and Lala eagerly served him the tea she had prepared. Kien sipped it slowly, his eyes never leaving her face. He could see how much she had longed for this reunion, and his heart softened. “You’ve taken such good care of everything while I was gone. I’m proud of you,” he said gently.
Lala blushed, shaking her head. “I tried… but it wasn’t the same without you. I felt like something important was missing.”
Kien reached across the table, taking her hand. “That’s because we belong together. Even when I’m far away, you’re always with me—in my thoughts and in my heart.”
Hearing those words made Lala’s chest tighten with emotion. She smiled, wiping away the last of her tears. “I’ll never let go of you, Kien.”

To celebrate their reunion, Lala decided to cook a special lunch. She bustled around the kitchen, chopping vegetables, stirring soups, and humming happily. Kien joined her, offering to help. It was a simple scene—two people cooking together—but to them, it felt magical. Every laugh, every small touch, carried the sweetness of being together again.
When the food was ready, they sat down to eat. Lala kept stealing glances at Kien, still hardly believing he was really there. Every bite tasted better because they were sharing it.
After lunch, they walked together in the garden. The flowers seemed brighter, the air fresher, as if nature itself was celebrating their reunion. Lala showed him the new blooms that had grown while he was away, and he listened attentively, praising her care.
Then, as they sat under the oak tree, Lala finally spoke of her feelings. “Those days without you… they were the hardest. I tried to smile, but inside, I felt so empty. Now that you’re here, I feel alive again.”
Kien held her close, his voice gentle but firm. “Lala, I promise you this—I will always come back to you. No matter where work takes me, no matter how many days we are apart, my heart will always return home to you.”
Her eyes sparkled with tears again, but this time they were tears of joy. She leaned her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes, listening to the steady beat of his heart. It was the sound she had missed the most.

As the afternoon sun painted the sky in hues of orange and pink, the two of them remained there, cherishing every moment. Lala’s joy was so great it felt like it might overflow. After many days of waiting, she finally had what she longed for—CEO Kien by her side again.
That night, the house glowed with warmth and laughter. Lala prepared a small cake to celebrate. They lit candles, shared stories, and even danced slowly in the soft light. For Lala, it was more than just a reunion—it was a reminder of the bond they shared, strong enough to withstand distance and time.
As she lay down to sleep later, Lala whispered to herself, “I’ll never forget this feeling. Today was the happiest day.” And with Kien’s hand gently holding hers, she drifted into the most peaceful sleep she had had in many days.
The long wait had ended, and joy had returned. Lala was overwhelmed, not just because she saw Kien again, but because their love had proven once more that it could survive anything.
