VLOGMAS DAY 4 – Gymshark Whitney Try-On, Spiders in Our Christmas Tree??

Hey friends! Welcome back to Vlogmas Day 4, and let me just say—today was a wild ride. What started as a chill day of trying on cute activewear turned into a full-blown spider situation (yes, really) involving our Christmas tree. So buckle up, grab a cozy drink, and let’s dive into the chaos and cuteness that was today.

MORNING VIBES & COFFEE FIRST

I woke up to the sound of soft Christmas music and the smell of cinnamon candles. Totally vibing with the season. Before doing anything else, I made myself a giant mug of peppermint mocha—because if it’s December, it’s peppermint everything, right?

I had my little Vlogmas to-do list in my planner, and right at the top: Gymshark Whitney Simmons collection try-on. I’ve been so excited for this. I ordered a few sets when the drop went live a while back and they finally arrived yesterday, just in time for today’s vlog!

But more on that in a minute—because let’s talk about the tree drama.

SPIDERS. IN. THE. TREE.

So, mid-morning, I’m sipping my coffee, editing a bit of yesterday’s vlog, when I hear this weird rustling sound coming from the living room. I pause the video and listen. Nothing. I brush it off. A minute later? Same sound. This time I walk over to the tree and take a closer look.

AND THEN I SEE IT.

Something moves. Like, moves. Not a little sparkle. Not a shifting ornament. An actual thing crawling.

At first, I thought it was maybe a ladybug (trying to be optimistic here), but nope. A spider. A legit, live spider, just chilling on a branch like it owns the place.

I kind of shrieked. Not gonna lie.

Then I spotted another one. And another. They weren’t huge, thank goodness, but they were there. Creeping out from somewhere in the middle of the tree. I called my partner over and was like, “Okay, either we deal with this right now or I’m burning this tree down.”

Turns out, sometimes when you get a real tree (yep, this one’s real), you can accidentally bring in bugs that were dormant in the branches. I googled it—apparently, it’s a thing. Christmas tree spiders. Who knew??

We ended up taking the tree outside onto the porch for a bit (yes, fully decorated—ornaments flying, lights getting tangled, full chaos mode) and gave it a serious shake-out and spray down with peppermint oil and vinegar water. Spiders hate peppermint, apparently. I guess they’re not in the holiday spirit.

Anyway, we did a quick sweep of the living room just in case any escapees were on the move, and thankfully, it seems like the rest of the house is bug-free.

Pro tip: if you get a real tree, give it a shake outside and maybe even a rinse before bringing it in. Lesson learned.

GYMSHARK WHITNEY TRY-ON!

After surviving the spider saga, I finally got around to the part of the day I’d been looking forward to—trying on the new Gymshark x Whitney Simmons collection. You guys, it did not disappoint.

Here’s what I ordered:

  • The Ruched Sports Bra in Bronze Green
  • The High Rise Leggings in Espresso
  • The Crop Tank in Off White
  • The Cycling Shorts in Black
  • The Wrap Jacket in Moonlight

Let me break it down for you:

1. Ruched Sports Bra – Bronze Green

The color? Stunning. It’s a soft olive-toned green with just the right amount of warmth. The ruched detail in the front is super flattering and gives a feminine touch. Support-wise, I’d say it’s medium—great for lifting or Pilates, but maybe not enough for high-impact workouts. The material is buttery soft but still compressive. Major win.

2. High Rise Leggings – Espresso

Okay, the fit of these is next-level. They hug in all the right places. The waistband stays up, no rolling down during squats, and the color is a rich, chocolate brown that flatters every skin tone. Also—no front seam! Can I get a hallelujah?

3. Crop Tank – Off White

This is more of an everyday piece. Super soft, minimal branding, and versatile enough to wear with jeans or throw on over a sports bra. I love that it’s not too cropped—just the perfect length to pair with high-waisted leggings.

4. Cycling Shorts – Black

Simple, clean, functional. You can’t go wrong with black shorts. These have the same soft material and waistband as the leggings. Ideal for warmer gym days or layering under oversized tees.

5. Wrap Jacket – Moonlight

This was a bit of a splurge piece, but I’m so glad I grabbed it. The Moonlight color is this dreamy, light grey-lavender hue. It’s super cozy and the tie detail gives it a cute, wrapped-up winter look. I’ll definitely be wearing this for coffee runs and cozy days at home.

Overall? Whitney killed this collection. Everything feels high quality, thoughtfully designed, and comfy enough to live in. I love how she mixes fitness with softness—it’s like activewear meets loungewear and I’m here for it.

VLOGGING, EDITING, AND A BIT OF SELF-CARE

After the try-on, I spent the afternoon editing clips for today’s vlog. I added in the spider segment because, honestly, how could I not? I was debating whether or not to show my mini freak-out, but hey—we keep it real here. 😂

Later, I took a long hot bath (because post-spider stress is real) with eucalyptus bubbles and a peppermint face mask. December can get hectic, so I’m trying to sprinkle in self-care wherever I can.

WHAT’S COMING TOMORROW

Okay, so tomorrow is Vlogmas Day 5 and I’ve got a holiday baking session planned. Think: gingerbread cookies, hot cocoa bombs, and maybe a peppermint bark situation. The kitchen’s gonna smell amazing. Also thinking of doing a mini Q&A while I bake—so drop your questions in the comments or DM me!

FINAL THOUGHTS

Today was a rollercoaster. From festive try-ons to unexpected tree dwellers, it was one of those “laugh later” kind of days. But honestly? That’s what I love about Vlogmas. Every day brings something new—whether it’s cozy, chaotic, or a little bit of both.

If you’ve ever had bugs in your Christmas tree, please tell me I’m not alone in this. And if you’re thinking of grabbing pieces from the Whitney collection—do it. You won’t regret it.

Thanks for hanging out with me today. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe to catch all the Vlogmas madness coming your way!

See you tomorrow! 🎄💪✨🕷️ (okay, hopefully not again with the spiders…)
