Christmas Decorating Our New Home | Vlogmas

There’s something magical about the holiday season, but this year feels extra special—we’re celebrating Christmas in our new home! Moving into a new place is already an adventure, but decorating it for our first Christmas here? That’s a whole new level of excitement. Welcome to this special edition of Vlogmas, where we turn our house into a winter wonderland filled with twinkling lights, festive decorations, and cozy holiday vibes.

Unboxing the Christmas Decorations

The first step in our decorating journey was digging out our Christmas decorations. Since we had recently moved, most of our holiday decor was still packed away in boxes. We spent the morning unboxing everything, reminiscing about past Christmases as we unwrapped ornaments, garlands, and stockings. It felt like opening a time capsule filled with memories.

One of the best surprises? Finding the handmade ornaments we crafted years ago! Some were a little worse for wear, but we decided they still deserved a special place on the tree.

Choosing the Perfect Christmas Tree

A Christmas tree is the heart of holiday decor, and picking the perfect one was a mission in itself. We debated between a real tree and an artificial one, but in the end, we opted for a fresh pine tree—the smell alone makes the whole house feel festive! We bundled up, drove to a nearby tree farm, and wandered through rows of evergreens until we found “the one.”

Bringing the tree inside was a different story. After a minor struggle (and a few pine needles in our hair), we finally got it into the perfect spot near the living room window. Then came the fun part—decorating!

Decking the Halls

We started by wrapping the tree in warm white string lights, carefully weaving them around the branches. Next, we hung our collection of ornaments—some store-bought, some sentimental, and a few that were pure childhood nostalgia. Of course, no tree is complete without a topper, and after some debate (and a near disaster with a wobbly ladder), we placed a glowing star at the very top.

But the decorating didn’t stop at the tree. We draped garlands along the staircase railing, added festive throw pillows to the couch, and placed holiday-scented candles throughout the house. The stockings found their new home above the fireplace, and we even set up a small Christmas village display on the console table.

Outdoor Holiday Magic

With the inside of the house looking festive, it was time to tackle the exterior! We strung multicolored lights along the roofline, wrapped the porch columns in red and white ribbons (candy cane style!), and placed a glowing reindeer and sleigh on the front lawn. The finishing touch? A giant wreath on the front door to welcome guests into our holiday haven.

Holiday Baking & Cozy Vibes

No Christmas decorating day is complete without festive treats! After all the decorating, we rewarded ourselves with some homemade gingerbread cookies and a big mug of hot cocoa (extra marshmallows, of course!). The kitchen smelled like cinnamon and vanilla, making our home feel even cozier.

As we sat by the fireplace, admiring our work, we couldn’t help but feel grateful. This was our first Christmas in this home, the beginning of new traditions, and the start of many holiday seasons to come.

Wrapping Up the Festivities

As the evening wrapped up, we turned off all the main lights and let the Christmas tree glow softly in the room. The twinkling lights, the scent of pine, and the warmth of the season filled our home with pure holiday magic.

This Vlogmas episode was all about creating a festive, cozy space in our new home, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Now, we’re ready for holiday movie nights, gift wrapping, and all the festive fun that December brings!
