Monkey Cutis was always full of energy, bouncing from tree to tree and causing all sorts of mischief in the jungle. His father, Mr. Cutis, was a strict but loving monkey who always tried to teach his son good manners. But Monkey Cutis had a problem—he loved to daydream. Sometimes, his dreams were so wild that they got him into trouble!
One sunny morning, Monkey Cutis woke up screaming. “NO! DON’T LAUGH AT ME!” he yelled, his little hands covering his face. His mother, Mrs. Cutis, rushed over to check on him.
“What happened, dear?” she asked gently.
Monkey Cutis groaned. “Oh, Mom! I had the most embarrassing dream EVER!”
His little sister, Momo, who was always eager to hear something funny, jumped onto the bed. “Tell me! Tell me! What happened in your dream?”
Monkey Cutis hesitated, but then he sighed. “Okay, but you have to promise not to laugh!”
Momo nodded eagerly, but her eyes twinkled with curiosity.
Monkey Cutis took a deep breath. “In my dream, I was the King of the Jungle! All the animals gathered around me, bowing and clapping. I felt so powerful! But then… OH NO! I looked down and realized I WASN’T WEARING ANY FUR!”
Momo gasped, then burst into laughter. “You mean—you were NAKED? Like, totally BALD?”
Monkey Cutis nodded miserably. “Completely bald! No fur, no tail, NOTHING! And everyone was laughing at me, even the tiny ants!”
Momo rolled on the floor, giggling uncontrollably. “That’s the funniest thing I’ve ever heard!”
Their father, Mr. Cutis, overheard the commotion and walked into the room. “What is all this noise about?” he asked, his voice deep and serious.
Momo, still laughing, managed to say, “Cutis had a dream where he was BALD!”
Mr. Cutis frowned. “Dreams are just dreams, son. There’s nothing to worry about.”
But Monkey Cutis wasn’t so sure. The embarrassment of his dream still clung to him like a sticky banana peel. He decided to shake it off by swinging outside with his friends.
The Big Mistake
As he swung through the trees, he spotted his best friends—Toto the Parrot, Lila the Rabbit, and Benny the Squirrel. They were all busy munching on their breakfast.
“Hey, guys!” Cutis shouted. “Wanna hear something funny?”
The others stopped eating and looked at him with curiosity. “What is it?” asked Lila.
Monkey Cutis hesitated, but then he grinned. “I had a dream that I was BALD! No fur, no tail, just a naked monkey! And everyone laughed at me!”
Toto, Lila, and Benny burst out laughing.
“That’s the silliest dream ever!” squawked Toto.
“I can’t imagine you without fur!” giggled Benny.
Monkey Cutis laughed along with them, finally feeling better. But what he didn’t know was that he was laughing so hard he didn’t realize… his father was watching from a nearby branch!
Dad Gets Really Angry
Mr. Cutis’s face turned red with anger. He swung down in front of his son. “CUTIS!” he boomed. “Come home RIGHT NOW!”
Monkey Cutis froze. “Uh-oh,” he whispered. His friends quickly scurried away, not wanting to get in trouble too.
When they got home, Mr. Cutis crossed his arms and glared at his son. “Do you think it’s funny to talk about embarrassing things?”
Monkey Cutis gulped. “Well… it was just a dream, Dad…”
Mr. Cutis shook his head. “Cutis, dreams can be silly, but when you share them in a way that makes people laugh AT you, you give them power over you. You have to be confident! Everyone has embarrassing moments, but how you handle them matters.”
Monkey Cutis looked down, feeling ashamed. He hadn’t thought about it that way.
His father continued, “Instead of laughing at yourself just because others do, learn to own your moments with confidence. If you act like it’s no big deal, others will too.”
Monkey Cutis nodded slowly. “I get it, Dad. I won’t let an embarrassing dream bother me so much next time.”
Mr. Cutis smiled. “Good. Now, let’s go have some bananas for breakfast.”
As they ate, Monkey Cutis realized his dad was right. Everyone has silly moments, but confidence makes all the difference. And from that day on, he never let an embarrassing dream get the best of him again!
