After many busy days at the office, CEO Kien finally took a well-deserved break and decided to spend the weekend doing something refreshing. And what could be better than reconnecting with nature? More importantly, he knew there was someone who had been waiting patiently for his time and attention—Lala, his beloved golden dog. The moment she saw him pick up her leash and smile, her tail wagged furiously, and her eyes sparkled with joy. Today was going to be special.
The sun had just risen, casting a golden glow across the countryside. Fields stretched endlessly, dotted with grazing cows, chirping birds, and a distant sound of flowing rivers. Lala jumped into the back of Kien’s SUV, and off they went, away from the noisy city and into the embrace of nature.
Their first stop was an open field of tall grass that swayed gently in the breeze. Kien opened the door, and Lala leaped out excitedly, rolling in the grass and sniffing every flower she could find. She hadn’t seen such a wide-open space in weeks. It was like a playground made just for her. Kien watched her with a smile, pulling out his phone to snap a few candid photos. “That’s my girl,” he whispered.

They continued their journey on foot, following a narrow trail that meandered through a sunflower field. Lala trotted beside Kien, occasionally bounding ahead when something interesting caught her attention—a butterfly, a squirrel, or a curious rustling in the bushes. She would stop and wait for Kien, who walked calmly with a backpack full of snacks, water, and a few dog treats.
The trail led them to a wooden bridge over a slow-moving stream. Lala hesitated at first, sniffing the damp planks, but with Kien’s gentle encouragement, she carefully crossed it. On the other side, the landscape changed into a shady grove of trees. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, creating playful patterns on the ground. It was cool and peaceful, the air filled with the sweet scent of wildflowers and fresh grass.
Kien sat on a flat rock under a large tree and pulled out a bottle of water. Lala sat beside him, panting softly with happiness. He handed her a treat and stroked her back. “I’ve missed this, Lala,” he said softly. She looked up at him, her tongue lolling out in a happy smile, as if to say, “Me too!”
They rested for a while, listening to the gentle sounds of the countryside—the rustling of leaves, the songs of birds, and the occasional moo of cows in the distance. Then, they continued their exploration, discovering a hidden pond. Lala wasted no time jumping in, splashing the cool water and chasing after floating leaves. Kien laughed, taking off his shoes and dipping his feet into the pond.
A nearby farmer, seeing them from his field, approached with a friendly smile. “You’ve got a happy dog,” he said, wiping sweat from his brow.
“She’s been cooped up too long,” Kien replied, smiling. “Thought it was time to give her a little countryside freedom.”
The farmer nodded, then pointed to a nearby hill. “If you climb up there, you’ll see the whole valley. It’s worth it.”
Kien thanked him and whistled for Lala, who bounded up beside him, shaking water all over his pants. “Okay, okay!” he laughed. “Let’s go see that view.”
The climb wasn’t too steep, but it was enough to get their hearts pumping. At the top, they were rewarded with a breathtaking view. Below them stretched green fields, winding dirt roads, tiny farms with red-roofed houses, and herds of animals grazing peacefully. The sky was endless, dotted with fluffy white clouds.

Kien sat down in the grass, and Lala curled up beside him. They sat there for a long time, simply taking in the beauty. He took a deep breath and felt his stress melt away. “Why don’t I do this more often?” he asked aloud, more to himself than to Lala.
After enjoying the view, they descended the hill and made their way toward a nearby village. It was a quaint place, with simple homes, children playing outside, and friendly villagers who waved as they passed. An old woman offered Kien a cup of tea and gave Lala a piece of homemade dried meat, which she devoured gratefully.
The village dog joined them briefly, playfully chasing Lala in circles. Kien chatted with the villagers, learning about their lives, their farming routines, and their love for their animals. It was a reminder of how peaceful and fulfilling life could be when lived simply and in harmony with nature.
As the sun began to set, casting a warm orange hue across the fields, Kien and Lala started their walk back to the car. Lala walked a bit slower now, her energy slightly drained but her spirit content. Kien carried her for a few minutes, smiling as she rested her head on his shoulder.
Back at the SUV, Lala curled up on the seat and quickly fell asleep. Kien looked at her and gently ran his fingers through her fur. “You’ve been such a good girl today,” he whispered. “We’ll do this again. I promise.”
As they drove back to the city, the headlights cutting through the fading twilight, Kien reflected on the day. It wasn’t just a break from work. It was a reconnection—with nature, with peace, and with the loyal friend who had stood by him through everything.
That day in the countryside wasn’t just an escape; it was a reminder of the simpler joys in life. Lala, with her boundless energy and pure love, had once again shown him that sometimes, happiness can be as simple as a walk in the grass, a splash in the pond, or a quiet hilltop view shared between two best friends.

And though they returned to their regular lives the next morning, something had changed. From that day on, CEO Kien made time—every week—to explore the world with Lala, one field, one forest, one adventure at a time. Because the joy in Lala’s eyes was worth more than all the deals and meetings he could ever have.
