Life on the farm was always busy, but when Mom became pregnant, everything changed. Tasks that used to be easy became harder. Feeding the cows, cleaning the barn, and moving hay bales all became a big challenge. That’s when Cutis stepped up.

Cutis was just a little boy, only ten years old, but he had a big heart and a brain full of clever ideas. He loved the farm, the animals, and especially his mom. When he saw her getting tired and moving slowly, he knew he had to help.

One early morning, as the roosters crowed and the sun peeked over the hills, Cutis woke up before anyone else. He slipped on his boots and tiptoed out of the house. “I’m going to surprise Mom today,” he whispered to himself.

First, he went to the cow barn. There were six cows, all waiting to be fed. Cutis knew exactly what they liked. He carried buckets of hay and mixed in their favorite feed. He even remembered to add a few carrot slices for Daisy, the oldest cow, who had bad teeth.

As the cows munched happily, Cutis grabbed a shovel and cleaned the barn. It was hard work, but he whistled as he worked. Then he filled up the water trough and made sure every cow had a clean, dry space to lie down.

When Mom came out, holding her belly and moving slowly, she stopped in her tracks. “Cutis?” she said, blinking at the clean barn and the peaceful cows.
Cutis smiled proudly. “I took care of it, Mom! You need to rest.”
Mom’s eyes filled with tears. “You’re amazing, sweetheart,” she said, hugging him tight. “You’re my little farmer.”

But Cutis wasn’t done yet. Over the next few weeks, he created a schedule to manage all the farm work. He made a feeding chart for the cows, set reminders to clean the barn every three days, and even built a small cart from old wood and wheels to carry heavy buckets. He called it the “Cutis Cart.”

When it rained, Cutis made sure all the cows stayed dry. He led them to the covered part of the barn and fixed leaks in the roof with tape and tarp. When one of the cows, Bella, got sick, he watched carefully, took notes, and told the vet everything. The vet was so impressed, he called Cutis “the smartest young farmer I’ve ever met.”
By the time the baby arrived, Mom didn’t have to worry about the cows at all. Cutis had it all under control.
“I’m so proud of you,” Mom said, rocking the baby in her arms. “You’ve taken care of everything like a true farmer.”
Cutis beamed. “I just wanted to help, Mom. I love you—and the cows too!”
Everyone in town soon heard about the super smart boy who ran the farm while taking care of his pregnant mom. And from that day on, Cutis became known as the clever little farmer with the biggest heart.
