Summer had arrived in full swing. The sun blazed high above, casting golden rays over the green trees, colorful flowers, and busy little creatures that scurried under the shade. In the middle of a peaceful village nestled near the forest, lived a sweet little monkey named Lala.
Lala wasn’t just any monkey—she was cheerful, curious, and had a very big love for food, especially cool, tasty treats. Her best friends, Thuy the gentle squirrel and Max the talkative parrot, often joined her on fun adventures. But when the summer heat became too much to handle, Lala would look for ways to stay cool and comfortable.
One sunny afternoon, the air felt especially heavy. The leaves on the trees barely moved, and even the butterflies seemed too tired to flutter. Lala sat under her favorite mango tree, fanning herself with a banana leaf.
“I’m melting like ice cream!” she said dramatically, flopping onto the grass.
Max flew down from a branch above and squawked, “You could eat ice cream! But wait… you already had three today!”

Thuy giggled as she arrived with a small basket of fruits. “Lala, maybe you should try something cool and healthy this time.”
Lala’s eyes lit up. “Like what?”
“Fruit mixed with yogurt!” Thuy smiled. “It’s my favorite summer snack. It’s cold, creamy, and so refreshing.”
Lala tilted her head. “Hmm… I’ve never had that before. Is it sweet?”
“Oh yes,” Thuy nodded, “especially if you add mangoes, bananas, and strawberries!”
Lala jumped to her feet. “Let’s make it right now!”
The trio made their way to Lala’s cozy treehouse, where she had a small kitchen filled with bowls, wooden spoons, and colorful cups. The air inside was a bit cooler, shaded by thick leaves and the soft rustle of wind in the trees.
Thuy carefully opened her fruit basket. Inside were juicy slices of watermelon, chunks of mango, slices of banana, and a few red strawberries. Lala clapped her hands with excitement.
“They’re so colorful!” she said. “It looks like a rainbow!”
Max landed on the counter, balancing a tiny spoon in his beak. “What’s next?”
“We need yogurt,” Thuy replied. “Lala, do you have any?”
“Yes! Wait here,” Lala said as she scampered to the back of the treehouse. She returned with a small clay pot filled with creamy white yogurt. “Made by Auntie Lulu! She uses fresh milk from the farm every morning.”
“Perfect!” Thuy said. “Now, let’s mix everything together.”
The friends took turns adding fruit to a large bowl. Mangoes first, then bananas, followed by watermelon and strawberries. Thuy scooped in the thick yogurt, and Max sprinkled a pinch of honey from a jar he brought.

They mixed it gently, and the sweet, fruity aroma filled the air.
“Want to add a little mint?” Thuy asked.
Lala sniffed a leaf and smiled. “Yes! That smells cool.”
Once everything was ready, they poured the creamy mixture into little coconut shell bowls. The cool yogurt blended with the juicy fruits, making each bite deliciously refreshing. Lala took her first spoonful, and her eyes widened with delight.
“Mmmmmm!” she exclaimed. “It’s sweet, cold, and soft all at once! The mango is so smooth, and the strawberry gives a tiny zing!”
Max nodded, licking his beak. “It’s like a tropical cloud in my mouth.”
Thuy laughed. “Told you it was good!”
The friends ate happily, enjoying the peaceful breeze and the cheerful chirping of birds nearby. Lala felt the heat of the day melt away, replaced by the cool comfort of her new favorite snack.
As they finished their bowls, Lala had an idea.
“Let’s make a fruit and yogurt party! We can invite all our friends tomorrow and share this treat with them!”
“What a great idea!” Max agreed. “I’ll make fruit signs to hang in the trees!”
“I’ll gather more fruit,” Thuy added. “We’ll need a lot!”
The next morning, the friends got to work. Lala decorated her treehouse with banana leaf streamers and coconut lanterns. Max painted little signs that read “Yogurt Fun Here!” and hung them from the trees. Thuy arranged a fruit stand and made bowls ready for mixing.
By noon, animals from all over the forest began to arrive. Rabbits, turtles, hedgehogs, and even a shy deer came to see what the fun was about.
Lala welcomed everyone with a big smile. “Come try the best summer snack ever—fruit mixed with yogurt!”
Everyone formed a line and got their bowls of the fruity treat. Giggles and happy munching filled the air.
“This is amazing!” said a little rabbit.

“So refreshing!” said a chubby raccoon.
“Can we have the recipe?” asked a squirrel couple.
Lala beamed with pride. “Of course! It’s just fruit, yogurt, honey, and a sprinkle of love!”
The party continued with music, dancing, and even a silly fruit-stacking contest. By the end of the day, everyone was smiling, full, and cool despite the summer heat.
As the sun began to set, Lala sat under her mango tree again, her heart full of happiness.
“Thank you, Thuy, for showing me this snack,” she said softly.
Thuy smiled and gave her a hug. “Sometimes the simplest things bring the most joy.”
Max landed beside them, his feathers slightly sticky from fruit. “And it’s a good excuse to eat dessert every day!”
They all laughed.
From that day on, every summer in the forest became known as the “Season of Cool Bowls.” Animals young and old looked forward to Lala’s special treat. And Lala? She found joy not just in the delicious mix of yogurt and fruit, but in sharing it with everyone she loved.
Because sometimes, a bowl of something sweet, cool, and made with love is the best way to beat the heat—and bring everyone together.
