The morning sun stretched its warm fingers across the trees, painting the forest with golden light. Birds chirped lively songs, insects buzzed with excitement, and somewhere near the riverside, a certain curious little monkey was already making trouble. That little one was none other than Baby Miko, the mischievous darling of the troop—too adventurous for his own good.
And nearby, pacing back and forth on a thick tree branch, was CUTIS, the young and responsible monkey who always ended up babysitting Miko. This morning, however, something was terribly wrong. CUTIS scratched his head, eyes scanning every direction.
“Miko! Baby Miko! Where did you go this time?” CUTIS shouted, his voice echoing through the forest.
But there was no reply—only a distant giggle carried by the wind.
CUTIS slapped his forehead. “Oh no… not again!”
The Disappearing Baby

Baby Miko had a reputation. If there was mud, he would roll in it. If there was water, he would fall into it. If there was a quiet moment, he would turn it into chaos. So CUTIS knew that losing sight of Miko even for one minute was an invitation for disaster.
CUTIS jumped down from the branch and raced through the bushes. “Miko, come out! If you’re hiding, it’s not funny!”
But somewhere behind him… tiny feet were tiptoeing.
Baby Miko had climbed onto a hollow log, trying his best to stay hidden. His little face peeked out, his eyes sparkling with mischief. He wasn’t scared. No, no—the little monkey thought this was a game.
CUTIS ran past without noticing. Baby Miko tried to hold back his giggles but failed terribly. A loud “Khee-hee-hee!” burst out, echoing through the trees.
CUTIS skidded to a stop. “Miko?!”
The log wobbled.
Miko panicked, jumped—and the entire hollow log began rolling down a small hill.
“UH-OH!” CUTIS gasped.
And there went Baby Miko… rolling like a fast, furry wheel.
“WAAAAAH!” Miko screamed dramatically as he spun.
CUTIS raced after him, dodging roots, slipping on leaves, and shouting, “STOP THE LOG! STOP THE LOG!”
The Great Mud Splash

The log finally reached the bottom of the hill—where a muddy puddle waited like a trap.
Splash!
Mud shot into the air. Frogs jumped away in panic. And CUTIS, still running full speed, couldn’t stop in time.
He slid right into the puddle.
SPLAT!
CUTIS sat up, dripping from head to toe in sticky brown mud. Baby Miko popped out of the broken log, also covered in mud but giggling uncontrollably.
CUTIS wiped mud out of his eyes. “Miko… why do I always end up like this because of you?”
Miko wiggled his eyebrows. Then he slapped a handful of mud onto CUTIS’s chest.
CUTIS gasped. “OH, NOW YOU DID IT!”
What followed was the messiest, funniest mud fight the forest had seen in years. Birds stared in disbelief. A turtle walked by, shaking its head like an old grandpa disappointed in the youth. But CUTIS and Miko didn’t care—they laughed and played until both of them looked like two walking mud statues.
But CUTIS remembered something important.
“Wait! Miko, I have to bring you back to your mom! If she finds out I lost you, she will pluck all my fur!”
Miko froze.
CUTIS froze.
Then they both nodded.
Time to go.
The Banana Disaster

While CUTIS carried Miko toward the troop’s resting area, Miko spotted a bunch of ripe bananas hanging low on a branch.
CUTIS warned, “Don’t even think about it.”
But Miko had already thought about it.
In one swift motion, he leapt from CUTIS’s shoulder and grabbed the entire bunch.
“Miko! No, no, no—those belong to the big males!”
Baby Miko took a big bite and stuffed his cheeks like a tiny chipmunk. CUTIS held his head.
Before they could escape, three huge male monkeys appeared behind them.
CUTIS whispered, “This is how we die.”
But instead of attacking, the big males blinked… stared… then burst into laughter.
Seeing CUTIS and Miko completely covered in mud—with bananas falling everywhere—was too ridiculous to take seriously.
One of the older males grabbed Miko by the tail, lifted him up like a muddy coconut, and shook his head. “This little one again?”
CUTIS bowed respectfully. “Sorry! I’ll clean him up!”
The big males waved him away, still laughing.
CUTIS sighed with relief, grabbed Miko, and hurried out.
The Mango Bucket Incident

They finally reached the campsite where the troop had been gathering fruit in wooden buckets.
CUTIS placed Miko down and said, “Stay here for two minutes. Just TWO. Don’t move.”
But Miko sniffed the air.
Sweet mango.
Irresistible.
He crawled toward the tallest wooden bucket filled with bright mangoes. CUTIS, cleaning his fur a few meters away, felt a strange silence behind him.
He turned slowly.
“Miko… DON’T.”
But Miko was already climbing the bucket.
CUTIS sprinted.
Too late.
Baby Miko slipped right into the bucket.
THUMP—SQUISH!
Mango juice exploded out the top like an orange volcano.
CUTIS facepalmed harder than ever before. “You’re like a fruit magnet!”
But Miko popped his head up, face dripping with mango pulp, and gave the biggest, cheekiest smile ever.
CUTIS couldn’t stay mad. He burst out laughing.
“You little troublemaker… you win again.”
The Reunion

Mama Monkey finally returned, searching for her baby.
“Miko! CUTIS! Where are you two?”
CUTIS straightened his posture, picked Miko up, and tried to look innocent.
But Mama Monkey’s jaw dropped.
CUTIS was covered in mud.
Miko was drenched in mango juice.
CUTIS stuttered, “E-everything is fine!”
Mama Monkey crossed her arms.
CUTIS pointed at Miko. “He disappeared! I tried to find him! Then he rolled! Then we fell! Then there was mud—and bananas—and mangoes—and—”
“Mamaaaa!” Miko cried and leapt into her arms.
Mama sighed, hugged her baby, and then looked at CUTIS.
“Thank you for finding him… even if you look like you survived a storm.”
CUTIS exhaled in relief.
Then Miko did something unexpected.
He climbed back onto CUTIS’s shoulder, kissed his cheek, and hugged him tightly.
CUTIS smiled warmly. “Aww… you do love me.”
But then Miko wiped mango juice all over CUTIS’s face.
CUTIS shouted, “HEY! WHY?!”
Mama laughed.
Miko laughed.
The entire troop laughed.
And CUTIS couldn’t help but laugh too.
Because no matter how much chaos Baby Miko caused… life was never boring with him.
