The forest was usually a peaceful placeâfilled with warm sunshine, fresh breezes, and the gentle rustling of leaves. But today, the sky looked different. A thick blanket of gray clouds gathered overhead, rumbling like a sleepy giant about to wake up. Every animal sensed it. Birds rushed back to nests, squirrels carried the last nuts home, and even the tall bamboo trees swayed nervously.
Except for two troublemakers.
CUTISâthe mischievous young monkey with wild ideas
and
Baby Monkeyâthe tiny sidekick who copied everything he did
were too busy playing to notice the storm that was about to explode.
CUTIS was showing Baby Monkey his latest âsuper skill.â He puffed up his chest, stretched his arms, and declared:
âBaby! Today I will teach you the ultimate forest techniqueâTHE SPINNY JUMP!â
Baby Monkey clapped excitedly. âSpin! Spin! Spin!â
CUTIS climbed a nearby tree, swung once, twice, three times⌠then launched himself like a spinning coconut. He twirled in the air, screaming dramatically:

âWoooooohoooooâ!!!â
Baby Monkey burst into laughter as CUTIS landed in a pile of leaves, dizzy and proud.
âYour turn!â CUTIS said, still wobbling.
Baby Monkey climbed the same branchâand immediately fell backward, rolling like a fluffy ball straight into CUTISâ arms.
They both laughed so loudly that even a grumpy owl peeked out from his hole.
But thenâŚ
BOOM.
Thunder cracked across the sky like someone had snapped a giant bamboo stick. CUTIS froze. Baby Monkey froze. The leaves around them trembled.
âUh-ohâŚâ CUTIS said.
Baby Monkey blinked. âMama?â
âNo, thatâs not Mama. Thatâs RAIN!â
And right on cueâ
SHAAAAA!!!

The rain poured down as if someone turned on a thousand showers at once. Heavy drops splattered on CUTISâ head. Splat! Splat! Splat!
Baby Monkey squeaked and tried to hide behind him.
CUTIS shook his head dramatically, spraying water everywhere like a dog.
âBaby! Emergency mode! Itâs raining!!â
Baby Monkey panicked and copied him, shaking his tiny body so fiercely he fell onto the mud.
CUTIS rushed over and lifted him up.
âBaby! Stand straight! Rain does not like brave monkeys!â
But Baby Monkey wasnât listening. He was staring at something elseâŚ
MUD.
A big puddle of squishy, sticky, splashy mud forming right at their feet.
Baby Monkey gasped loudly. CUTIS followed his stare.
âOh no. Baby⌠donât you dareââ
But it was too late.
Baby Monkey jumped into the mud with the joy of a champion.
SPLOOOOOSH!
CUTIS got drenched.
âBABYYYY!!â he yelled.

Baby Monkey giggled, flung mud into the air, and slapped both hands into the puddle again.
CUTIS stood there, soaked, muddy, and defeated. He sighed dramatically. âWhy? Why do you do this to me?â
But then, another thunderclap echoedâ
and CUTIS suddenly felt a drop slide down his nose.
Not a raindropâŚ
Not mudâŚ
A tear?
Waitâno.
Baby Monkey was staring at him with wide, trembling eyes.
He wasnât laughing anymore.
CUTIS quickly knelt. âBaby? Whatâs wrong?â
Baby Monkey pointed at the sky, scared.
CUTIS softened. âAww⌠baby. Itâs okay. Rain isnât scary. Itâs just the sky taking a shower! See?â
He stuck his tongue out and caught a raindrop. âYummy sky juice!â
Baby Monkey tried it too. A raindrop landed on his tongue and he blinked in surprise.
âSweet?â he whispered.
CUTIS nodded proudly. âSweet!â
Baby Monkey smiled again.

CUTIS knew what he had to do. If Baby Monkey could be brave, he had to be brave too. So he exaggerated a dramatic pose and yelled:
âCUTISâRAIN MASTER MODE!!!â
He started dancing in the rain like a crazy performer. He twirled, rolled, leaped, and even pretended to punch the raindrops.
Baby Monkey squealed with laughter and copied every moveâ
just with more wobbling, more falling, and much louder giggles.
Suddenly, CUTIS spotted a giant banana leaf floating down from a tree like a parachute. He ran and caught it.
âBaby! Look! Umbrella!â
He held it above their heads dramatically. The leaf was HUGEâbig enough to cover both of them. Baby Monkey crawled under it and cuddled against CUTISâ side.
For a moment, they just sat there, listening to the rain drum softly on their banana-leaf roof.
Baby Monkey yawned.
CUTIS smiled. âSleepy already? Rain makes you calm, huh?â
Baby Monkey nodded, safely tucked against him.
CUTIS gently rocked him, humming a soft monkey lullaby.
But the peace didnât last long.
A sudden gust of wind blew the banana leaf away.
âHEY! Come back!â CUTIS yelled, chasing it as Baby Monkey desperately clung to him.
The leaf rolled, flew, flipped, and bounced like it had legs of its own.
CUTIS finally jumped and grabbed it mid-airâbut landed right into another mud puddle.
SPLAAAAAAT!

Baby Monkey screamed with excitement and laughed so loudly CUTIS couldnât help but laugh too.
They lay there in the mud, the rain pouring over them, the banana leaf crushed between them.
CUTIS shook his head dramatically. âThis is a disaster.â
Baby Monkey hugged him tightly. âFun!â
CUTIS blinked.
Then smiled.
âYeah⌠fun.â
They spent the rest of the storm splashing around, sliding through mud like professional swimmers, using the banana leaf as a slippery sled, and dancing under the rain until their fur was soaked and their bellies hurt from laughing.
By the time the rain finally stopped, CUTIS and Baby Monkey looked like two overcooked dumplingsâwet, muddy, and fluffy in the weirdest way.
CUTIS lifted Baby Monkey, who was now tired, sleepy, and dripping like a tiny sponge.
âCome on, Baby. Letâs get you home before your mom sees what we didâŚâ
Baby Monkey yawned, resting his head on CUTISâ shoulder.
CUTIS smiled softly. âYou had fun, didnât you?â
Baby Monkey whispered, âCutis funnyâŚâ
CUTIS puffed up proudly. âOf course I am.â
They walked through the forest, leaving behind little muddy footprints and a trail of laughter.
And everyone who saw them couldnât help but smile.
Because CUTIS and Baby Monkey werenât just funny when it rainedâ
They were pure joy.
Pure chaos.
Pure love.
And the funniest duo the forest had ever seen. đâ¤ď¸
The End.
