Deep in the lush green forest, where sunlight danced between the leaves and the sweet sounds of chirping birds filled the air, CUTIS—the mischievous yet brilliant little monkey—was up to something new again. Known among the troop for his playful tricks and unexpected talents, CUTIS had recently discovered something that fascinated him more than climbing trees or stealing bananas: cooking.
It all began one sunny morning when the troop was resting near the riverside. Pregnant Mom Monkey was lying comfortably on a soft patch of grass, gently rubbing her round belly while the baby monkey, Coco, played beside her with a coconut shell. CUTIS, meanwhile, was pacing back and forth with a serious expression, holding a few wild fruits and leaves in his tiny hands.
“CUTIS, what are you doing?” Pregnant Mom asked, her tone half amused and half suspicious.
“I’m going to make something special today!” CUTIS announced proudly, puffing up his chest. “You’ll see, it’s going to be delicious!”
Coco, the baby monkey, burst into giggles. “Delicious? From the jungle leaves? You can’t even peel a banana right sometimes!”
CUTIS made a funny face at Coco. “Just you wait, little one! I’ve been watching the humans at the village. They mix things, stir things, and boom!—the smell is so good it makes my nose dance!”
With determination burning in his little heart, CUTIS began collecting ingredients. He grabbed ripe bananas, some soft mangoes that had fallen from the tree, and a few nuts from the nearby bushes. He even managed to find some honeycombs hanging on a low branch. Of course, he had to dodge a few angry bees, which made Mom and Coco laugh hysterically as he ran around waving his arms, trying to swat them away.
“CUTIS, you look like you’re dancing!” Mom teased between laughs.
“I’m not dancing! I’m surviving!” CUTIS shouted, still flailing as the bees finally gave up and buzzed away.

After catching his breath, he returned to his “kitchen”—a large flat rock by the river that he’d chosen as his cooking table. He placed the bananas and mangoes neatly in a row and started mashing them with a stick. The sound of squishy fruit mixed with his hums of concentration.
Coco, curious as always, came closer. “What’s that supposed to be?”
“It’s a surprise!” CUTIS said dramatically. “Something that will make everyone happy.”
Pregnant Mom chuckled. “As long as it’s edible and doesn’t explode, I’ll be happy.”
CUTIS grinned mischievously. “No explosions this time… probably.”
The little chef continued his work. He added nuts into the mashed fruit, sprinkled in some bits of honeycomb, and mixed everything with the stick like a professional. He even tasted it and nodded approvingly. “Perfect! Just needs one final touch.”
CUTIS looked around and spotted a few colorful flowers nearby. With delicate care, he plucked the petals and placed them on top of his creation. “Presentation is important,” he muttered, mimicking the humans he’d seen on TV through a window one day.
When he finally turned to present his dish, he shouted proudly, “Behold! CUTIS’s Banana-Mango Jungle Delight!”

Pregnant Mom and Coco burst into laughter, both at the grand name and CUTIS’s over-the-top pose. Coco clapped his tiny hands. “You sound like a cooking show host!”
CUTIS bowed dramatically. “Thank you, thank you! Now, let’s taste the masterpiece!”
He scooped a small portion into a leaf bowl and handed it to Mom first. She sniffed it suspiciously. “Hmm… it actually smells good!”
Coco leaned in, his big curious eyes sparkling. “Can I try, Mom?”
Mom nodded, and together they each took a tiny bite. Instantly, their faces lit up with surprise. “Wow! CUTIS, it’s sweet and crunchy!”
CUTIS beamed proudly, his tail swishing in excitement. “Told you! CUTIS the Chef never fails!”
But just as he was celebrating, a sudden splat! sound echoed. CUTIS turned around to find that Coco had dropped his portion right onto his own head! The baby monkey’s face was smeared with fruit, honey, and flower petals, making him look like a jungle clown.
Mom burst into uncontrollable laughter, holding her belly as tears rolled down her cheeks. CUTIS, trying not to laugh, said, “Coco! You’re wearing my dish!”
Coco giggled, rubbing more fruit into his fur. “Now I’m delicious too!”

The scene turned into chaos. CUTIS tried to clean Coco, but the baby monkey kept squirming and smearing more of the fruit mixture onto CUTIS instead. Within seconds, both monkeys were covered in sticky sweetness, and Mom could barely breathe from laughing so hard.
“CUTIS,” she managed between giggles, “you might be the funniest chef I’ve ever seen!”
CUTIS wiped some honey from his nose and smiled sheepishly. “Well, laughter is also part of my recipe.”
They all ended up jumping into the shallow river to clean off. Coco splashed CUTIS with water, and CUTIS returned the favor, turning it into a playful water fight. Even Mom joined in, splashing them both and laughing joyfully. For a moment, the forest echoed with the sound of pure happiness—a family’s laughter carried by the wind.
After drying off under the sun, CUTIS decided to make another batch of his “Jungle Delight,” this time with more care. Coco helped by gathering nuts and fruit while Mom offered gentle advice, smiling lovingly at both of them.
When they finished, CUTIS handed Mom a leaf bowl filled with the freshly made treat. She tasted it again and nodded approvingly. “You know, CUTIS, this could actually become our troop’s new favorite snack.”

Coco agreed enthusiastically. “Yeah! We can open a restaurant—CUTIS’s Jungle Kitchen!”
CUTIS’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Oh yes! I’ll be the chef, you’ll be my assistant, and Mom will be the queen who tastes everything!”
Mom laughed softly, stroking her belly. “As long as you promise not to chase bees again.”
CUTIS grinned. “No promises!”
As the sun began to set, painting the sky in shades of gold and pink, the three monkeys sat together on the big rock, sharing the last of their sweet creation. Coco leaned against CUTIS, and Mom hummed a gentle tune, her heart full of warmth.
In that peaceful moment, surrounded by the beauty of the jungle, it wasn’t just about the cooking anymore. It was about the love, laughter, and memories they shared—the kind that turns an ordinary day into something unforgettable.
CUTIS looked at Mom and Coco, smiling softly. “You know,” he said, “maybe my real talent isn’t cooking after all.”
Mom raised an eyebrow. “Oh? Then what is it?”
“Making you both laugh,” CUTIS replied with a wink.
Coco giggled and hugged him tightly. “You’re the best, CUTIS!”
And as the stars began to twinkle overhead, their laughter once again filled the forest—warm, joyful, and alive. CUTIS, the funny little monkey with a big heart and a bigger imagination, had done it again: turned an ordinary day into a magical one.
Even the crickets seemed to join in, chirping rhythmically as if cheering for the little chef who could turn bananas, honey, and laughter into the sweetest recipe of all—happiness. 🍌😂💛
