Cutest Monkey! Go Market Take Care of Mom

Morning sunlight streamed through the open window, filling the small house with warmth and brightness. Mom had been feeling tired lately, so she decided to stay home and rest. But the family still needed food and fresh vegetables for the day. That was when the cutest little helper of all time—her baby monkey—decided to step in.

The monkey was called Milo, a playful yet smart little one with soft golden fur and big round eyes that sparkled with curiosity. Milo adored his mom more than anything else. Whenever she was tired, Milo would sit beside her, gently pat her hand, and chatter softly as if telling her, “Don’t worry, Mom, I’ll take care of you.”

Today was no different. Mom sighed and said, “I wish we had some vegetables and fruit for lunch, but I don’t feel well enough to go to the market.”

Milo tilted his head, then jumped up with excitement. He pointed to the woven basket sitting near the door, making his intentions clear. Mom laughed softly. “You? Go to the market? Oh, Milo…” But she saw the determination in his eyes. Finally, she smiled and handed him a few coins wrapped in a cloth. “Alright, my little helper. Be careful, and don’t forget the bananas. You love those as much as I do.”

Milo Sets Off

With the basket in one hand and the little cloth purse tied securely around his neck, Milo strutted out of the house. Neighbors passing by couldn’t help but stop and giggle at the sight of a tiny monkey marching proudly down the street, basket swinging at his side.

“Look at him! Where’s he going all by himself?” an old woman asked.

“To the market, I think,” another neighbor replied. “He’s such a clever little monkey.”

Milo waved his tiny hand as if to say hello, then hurried along. His steps were small, but his heart was full of purpose.

The Busy Market

When Milo reached the marketplace, he was greeted by a colorful scene. Stalls overflowed with fruits, vegetables, and flowers. People bustled around, bargaining and calling out prices. The smell of grilled corn and fresh herbs filled the air.

At first, some vendors were surprised to see him. “A monkey with a basket? What is this?” one man said.

But Milo confidently climbed onto a wooden stall, set down his basket, and pulled out the little purse with coins. He pointed to a pile of bananas. The fruit seller laughed so hard that his belly shook.

“You want bananas? Alright, little friend!” he said kindly, placing a big bunch in Milo’s basket.

Milo clapped his hands happily and offered the right amount of coins. Everyone nearby was amazed at how polite and clever he was.

Shopping for Mom

Milo didn’t stop at just bananas. He remembered everything Mom liked—green leafy vegetables, a few tomatoes, and some rice. At each stall, he carefully picked out fresh produce.

At the vegetable stall, he sniffed the greens one by one before choosing the crispest bunch. The vendor said, “What a smart monkey! He knows how to pick better than some humans.”

At the rice seller’s stall, Milo pointed to a small sack. He couldn’t carry a big one, but a small bag was just right. The seller tied it up neatly and placed it in his basket.

Milo even picked a small bouquet of flowers for Mom. They weren’t on the shopping list, but he thought they would make her smile.

A Funny Accident

Of course, no adventure is complete without a little trouble. As Milo passed the fish stall, the smell was too tempting. He leaned over, sniffing the fresh fish laid out on ice. But his tail accidentally knocked over a small bucket of water!

Splash! The water spilled everywhere, and the vendor jumped up in surprise. “Hey! Watch it, little monkey!”

Milo froze for a moment, then quickly bowed his head, pressing his little hands together in apology. The vendor couldn’t stay angry at such a cute face. “Alright, alright, go on. Just be careful next time!”

Everyone around laughed, shaking their heads. Milo’s charm had saved the day again.

Heading Home

With the basket now full of food and flowers, Milo started walking back home. The load was heavy, but he didn’t mind. Every few steps, he stopped to rest, then continued on with determination.

Children followed him for a while, cheering, “Go, Milo, go! Take care of Mom!” Some even offered to help, but Milo shook his head proudly. He wanted to do this himself.

When he finally reached home, he rushed inside and placed the basket on the table. “Chirp! Chirp!” he called out, his happy little sound for “Mom, I’m back!”

Mom’s Surprise

Mom, who had been resting on a mat, slowly sat up. Her eyes widened when she saw the basket filled with bananas, vegetables, rice, and even flowers.

“Oh, Milo! You did all this for me?” she said with tears of joy.

Milo jumped into her lap, hugging her tightly. He then picked up the flowers and placed them gently in her hands.

“You really are the sweetest, cutest monkey,” Mom whispered, kissing the top of his head.

A Feast of Love

That afternoon, thanks to Milo’s efforts, Mom prepared a simple but delicious meal. She cooked the rice, boiled the vegetables, and sliced the bananas for dessert. Milo sat beside her, munching happily.

As they ate together, Mom kept looking at him with pride. She knew he wasn’t just a playful little monkey—he was her caring companion, always ready to help.

After the meal, Milo lay down beside her, his stomach full, his eyes half-closed. Mom stroked his fur gently.

“You’ve taken care of me so well today,” she said softly. “You’re not just cute—you’re my hero.”

Milo let out a happy sigh and drifted off to sleep, dreaming of more adventures where he could help his beloved Mom.

Lesson of the Day

The whole neighborhood talked about Milo’s trip to the market. Everyone agreed that love isn’t just about big things—it’s also about small acts of care, like buying bananas for Mom when she’s tired.

Milo showed that even the smallest, cutest creature can do something meaningful. And from that day on, whenever people saw him carrying a basket, they would smile and say, “There goes the cutest monkey, always taking care of his mom.”
