Cutis woke up early, the golden rays of the sun peeking through the curtains of his small bedroom. He stretched his arms and let out a big yawn. Today was the perfect day for a cold, sweet treat. He had been craving watermelon smoothies for days, and today, he had a plan.

He rushed to the kitchen where his mother was already busy preparing breakfast. The smell of warm rice and fried eggs filled the air. His mom, wearing her usual bright floral apron, turned around and smiled at him.
“Good morning, Cutis! You’re up early today. What’s on your mind?” she asked.
Cutis grinned and rubbed his belly. “Mom, can I have some money to go to the market? I want to buy a big, juicy watermelon to make smoothies! And also… I want to feed the goat.”

His mother chuckled and wiped her hands on a towel. “That sounds like a great idea! How much do you need?”
“Just enough for a nice watermelon,” Cutis said, making his best puppy-dog eyes.
Mom laughed and reached into her purse, pulling out a few bills. “Here you go. Make sure to pick a good one! And don’t forget to get some for the goat too.”
Cutis took the money and hugged his mother before dashing out the door. The sun was shining bright as he made his way to the market, feeling the excitement bubble inside him. The marketplace was always lively, filled with people selling fresh fruits, vegetables, and other delicious goodies.

He walked past the colorful stalls, his eyes scanning for the perfect watermelon. Finally, he spotted a vendor with a mountain of big, green watermelons. The man, wearing a straw hat, smiled as Cutis approached.
“Ah, young man! Looking for a watermelon today?” the vendor asked.
“Yes, sir! I want the juiciest one for smoothies,” Cutis replied.
The vendor picked up a large watermelon and thumped it. A deep, hollow sound echoed. “This one is perfect. Sweet and ripe!”

Cutis nodded eagerly. He handed over the money and received the watermelon in return. It was heavier than he expected, but he was determined. He thanked the vendor and carefully carried the watermelon home.
As soon as he arrived, he placed the watermelon on the kitchen counter and grabbed a knife. His mom watched as he carefully sliced it open, revealing its bright red, juicy flesh. The sweet smell filled the kitchen, making Cutis’ mouth water.

“Wow! That looks delicious!” Mom said.
Cutis scooped out the watermelon pieces and put them in the blender. He added a little sugar, some ice, and a splash of milk before pressing the blend button. The machine whirred to life, mixing everything into a frothy, pink smoothie.
He poured the smoothie into two glasses and handed one to his mom. They both took a sip, and Cutis’ face lit up with joy. “Mmm! So refreshing!”
His mom smiled. “You did a great job, Cutis!”

But Cutis wasn’t done yet. He still had another important mission: feeding the goat. He grabbed the leftover watermelon rind and carried it outside to the small pen where their goat, Nibbles, was eagerly waiting.
“Hey, Nibbles! I brought you a treat!” Cutis said, holding out the watermelon rind.
Nibbles bleated happily and started munching on the rind, his little tail wagging with joy. Cutis patted his soft fur and laughed. “Looks like you love watermelon as much as I do!”

After finishing his smoothie, Cutis sat beside Nibbles, enjoying the warm afternoon breeze. He felt happy and proud—he had made a delicious treat and shared it with both his mom and his furry friend. It had been a simple day, but one filled with joy and kindness.
“Maybe tomorrow, I’ll try making banana smoothies,” Cutis mused, stroking Nibbles’ back.
His mom called from the kitchen, “Just make sure you don’t forget to share with Nibbles again!”
Cutis laughed. “I won’t!”
And with that, he lay back on the grass, dreaming of his next delicious adventure.
