It was a bright and sunny morning when Bibi woke up with excitement sparkling in her eyes. Today was not just any ordinary day—it was the day she had been eagerly waiting for. Her beloved Uncle Phong had promised to take her on a special trip, and now the time had come. Bibi quickly jumped out of bed, brushed her teeth, and threw on her favorite yellow dress, decorated with little smiling suns. She packed her small backpack with snacks, a sketchpad, and her favorite plush bunny named Lulu.
Uncle Phong arrived just as Bibi was tying her shoes. With a big grin and open arms, he scooped her up and gave her a warm hug. “Ready for an adventure, my little explorer?” he asked. Bibi nodded enthusiastically.
Their destination was a scenic countryside area a few hours away, known for its green hills, winding rivers, and peaceful walking trails. Bibi sat in the front seat of Uncle Phong’s car, singing along to cheerful songs as they drove past fields of wildflowers and rows of tall trees swaying gently in the breeze. The air was fresh and filled with the scent of blooming grass.
The first stop on their journey was a small strawberry farm. The moment they stepped out of the car, Bibi could smell the sweet scent of ripe strawberries. Uncle Phong handed her a small basket and together, they wandered through the rows, picking bright red berries and sneaking a few into their mouths.
“Mmm! These are the sweetest strawberries I’ve ever tasted!” Bibi exclaimed, her lips stained red.
Uncle Phong laughed. “Don’t eat them all before we weigh the basket!”

After their berry adventure, they spread out a picnic blanket under a large oak tree. Uncle Phong had packed sandwiches, fruit juice, and cookies shaped like animals. Bibi’s eyes lit up as she munched on a lion-shaped cookie, pretending it was roaring before she gobbled it up.
As they rested, Uncle Phong told Bibi stories from when he was a little boy. He talked about catching fireflies at night, building forts out of bamboo, and learning how to climb trees. Bibi listened with wide eyes, imagining all the fun things her uncle used to do.
Later, they went on a short hike through a nearby forest trail. The birds chirped high in the trees, and a small creek bubbled nearby. Bibi loved the sound of the water and kept pointing out butterflies fluttering by. They spotted a family of ducks swimming together and even saw a deer peeking out from behind a bush.
“Nature is full of surprises,” Uncle Phong said. “If you stay quiet and watch carefully, you’ll always find something amazing.”
Bibi nodded, trying her best to walk softly like a forest explorer.
In the afternoon, they stopped at a quiet riverbank where Uncle Phong showed Bibi how to skip stones. It took her a few tries, but soon she got the hang of it and managed to make the stone bounce across the water two times. “I did it!” she squealed in delight.
As the sun began to lower in the sky, Uncle Phong brought out the sketchpad from Bibi’s backpack. “Let’s draw our favorite part of the day,” he suggested. Bibi quickly began sketching the ducks, the strawberries, and a big tree with a picnic blanket underneath. Uncle Phong drew Bibi holding her plush bunny and smiling.
“Look,” he said, showing her the picture, “I drew my favorite moment—spending time with you.”
Bibi beamed. “This is the best day ever.”
Before heading back, they made one last stop at a small hill overlooking the countryside. The view was breathtaking. The sky was painted in shades of orange, pink, and purple. They sat quietly, enjoying the peaceful moment.

Uncle Phong handed Bibi a small notebook. “This is for you,” he said. “So you can write about all your adventures.”
Bibi hugged him tightly. “Thank you, Uncle Phong. I’m going to write about today first!”
As they drove home under the starry sky, Bibi fell asleep in the back seat, clutching her plush bunny and the little notebook. She dreamed of strawberries, butterflies, skipping stones, and the gentle voice of her uncle telling stories by the tree.
It had been a perfect day—filled with laughter, learning, and love. Bibi knew that this trip would stay in her heart forever, a precious memory of the happy moments she shared with Uncle Phong.
