It was a bright, peaceful morning when Thuy decided to treat her beloved little monkey, Lala, to something special. The sky was painted with soft pastels, and the gentle breeze promised a perfect day. Thuy smiled as she looked at Lala, who was sitting by the window with sparkling eyes, already sensing that something exciting was about to happen.
“Lala, how about breakfast at your favorite restaurant today?” Thuy asked cheerfully.
Lala clapped her tiny hands and let out a happy chirp. She didn’t understand every word, but she knew the tone and recognized the word “restaurant.” That was enough to get her excited.
Thuy gently dressed Lala in her favorite pink sweater, combed her soft fur, and placed a small bow on her head. With a little backpack of essentials—some snacks, wipes, and Lala’s favorite toy—they were ready for their little adventure.
The restaurant wasn’t far, just a short walk from Thuy’s home. As they strolled down the sidewalk, Lala perched on Thuy’s shoulder, turning heads and bringing smiles to passersby. Everyone in the neighborhood adored Lala. She was curious, playful, and surprisingly polite—traits that Thuy had carefully nurtured.
At the café, they found a cozy outdoor seat beneath a big umbrella. Thuy ordered a healthy breakfast for herself—avocado toast, scrambled eggs, and a smoothie. For Lala, it was a plate of fresh fruit and a tiny pancake cut into heart shapes. The little monkey nibbled happily, occasionally offering bites to Thuy, who laughed and accepted with gratitude.
“Delicious, isn’t it?” Thuy said, sipping her smoothie.
Lala squeaked and nodded, clearly satisfied. The restaurant staff, already familiar with the pair, stopped by to greet them and take a few photos for their social media. Lala posed like a pro, flashing her cheeky smile. She truly enjoyed the attention.
After the meal, Thuy wiped Lala’s face and hands and gave her a sip of water. Then, with the warm sun climbing higher, she had another idea. “Let’s go to the park, Lala. You can relax and play under the trees.”
Lala chirped again, clearly thrilled.

The park was just a block away. It was a large, green space filled with tall trees, blooming flowers, winding paths, and open fields where people jogged, walked their dogs, or simply sat reading. Thuy chose a shady spot beneath a big old tree with low branches. She spread out a blanket and laid down their small bag.
Lala immediately jumped onto the soft grass, rolling and stretching her arms toward the sky. Thuy sat cross-legged and watched her with a smile.
It wasn’t long before Lala noticed a few butterflies flitting about. She chased after them, giggling in her monkey way, hopping through the grass, and leaping over small bushes. Thuy kept a watchful eye on her but didn’t interfere—this was Lala’s time to enjoy.
Eventually, Lala tired herself out and came back to Thuy, hopping into her lap and curling up like a baby. Thuy gently stroked her fur, whispering, “You had fun, didn’t you?”
She pulled out a small brush from her bag and began grooming Lala, who closed her eyes in contentment. Birds chirped in the trees, and the sound of children playing echoed gently from another corner of the park. It was peaceful, calm, and perfect.
After a while, Thuy decided to take Lala on a walk around the park. She placed a tiny harness on her, just to be safe, and they strolled along the cobblestone path. Lala walked beside her, occasionally stopping to sniff flowers, pick up small twigs, or wave at dogs passing by.
At a small pond in the middle of the park, they paused. Ducks floated lazily, and the water sparkled under the sun. Thuy pulled out a small bag of oats and tossed a few to the ducks. Lala clapped her hands in delight, watching the birds gather and swim around.

A little boy and his mother came by, and the boy looked amazed at Lala. “Is that a real monkey?” he asked.
“Yes,” Thuy answered with a warm smile. “Her name is Lala. She’s very friendly.”
The boy bent down to say hello, and Lala gently reached out to pat his hand. Everyone laughed at her charm.
As the sun moved higher and the park became a bit warmer, Thuy found a quiet corner with a bench. She sat down, and Lala climbed up beside her, lying back with her hands behind her head like a tiny human. Thuy chuckled, amazed as always by Lala’s personality.
“You’re more relaxed than I am,” she teased.
They sat there for a long time, just soaking in the sunshine and enjoying the peaceful day. Occasionally, Thuy gave Lala a small treat or some water. She also took out her phone and snapped a few photos—moments she knew she’d treasure forever.
As the afternoon approached, it was time to head home. Thuy packed up their things, brushed off the grass from Lala’s fur, and placed her gently in the sling she sometimes used to carry her when Lala felt tired.
On the walk home, Lala dozed in the sling, her face calm and happy. Thuy walked slowly, not wanting to wake her.

Back home, she placed Lala on a soft cushion in the living room. The little monkey stretched and curled up, soon fast asleep. Thuy sat nearby with a cup of tea, watching her lovingly.
It had been a simple day—just breakfast and a walk in the park—but it meant the world to both of them.
Sometimes, the best moments in life are the quiet ones spent with those we love.
