In the quiet countryside, where the golden sun warmed the earth and the birds sang cheerfully every morning, lived a sweet and gentle dog named Lala. She had golden fur that shimmered in the light, bright eyes full of curiosity, and a heart as big as the sky. Lala lived with her kind-hearted owner, Thuy, who was always surrounded by love, laughter, and a growing family of animals.
Among the many furry friends Thuy cared for, there was a little baby monkey named Lu. Lu was full of energy and charm, always swinging around and getting into little mischiefs. He had a tiny face that could melt anyone’s heart and tiny fingers that loved to grab onto anything—especially Lala’s soft ears!
Lala and Lu had a special bond. Though Lu was mischievous and full of life, Lala had the patience of an angel. Every time Lu climbed on her back or nibbled on her tail, Lala never barked or growled. She simply wagged her tail, looked up at Thuy, and waited for instructions.

One sunny morning, Thuy called out from the garden, “Lala, come here, sweet girl!”
Lala trotted over, her paws padding softly on the ground. She looked up at Thuy, who smiled warmly and knelt down.
“Today, I need your help,” Thuy said. “Lu is feeling a little extra wild today, and I need to do some chores. Can you help me watch over him?”
Lala wagged her tail enthusiastically. She understood. Thuy was asking her to do something important. Taking care of baby Lu was no small job. Lala took a deep breath, gave a little bark of confirmation, and got to work.
Lu was already bouncing around the porch, trying to untie the shoelaces of one of Thuy’s boots. Lala gently nudged him away, using her nose to guide him toward a little blanket in the shade.
“Lala, good girl!” Thuy cheered.
Lala lay beside Lu, keeping a close eye on him. When he tried to crawl away toward the gate, she blocked him gently with her paw. When he tried to climb the flowerpots, she gave a soft bark, warning him to stay put. Lu pouted for a moment but then giggled and snuggled next to Lala.

Hours passed, and Lala stayed right by Lu’s side. She didn’t run off to chase butterflies. She didn’t bark at the birds. She was completely focused on keeping Lu safe. When Lu fell asleep on her back, Lala didn’t move an inch. She lay there, perfectly still, her golden fur rising and falling with her slow, steady breaths.
Thuy returned later that afternoon and was amazed.
“Oh my goodness, Lala! You did such a wonderful job!” Thuy exclaimed as she reached down to pet Lala’s head.
Lu was still snuggled up on Lala’s back, snoring softly. Thuy laughed.
“I think someone found the best babysitter in the world.”
Lala blinked up at her, proud and calm. She had completed her mission, and her heart was full.
“Well,” said Thuy, “you’ve earned a special reward.”
She disappeared into the kitchen, and when she came back, she held something that made Lala’s nose twitch with excitement.
A plate of warm, juicy, perfectly cooked chicken breast.
The scent was irresistible. The meat was tender, glistening with natural juices, and lightly seasoned. Thuy knelt beside Lala and placed the plate in front of her.
“You were so obedient, so helpful, and so patient,” Thuy said. “You deserve this. It’s all yours.”
Lala licked her lips. Slowly, politely, she began to eat. The chicken was delicious. Every bite melted in her mouth. She chewed slowly, savoring every mouthful, her tail wagging in joy. Lu, now awake, looked at the plate with curiosity, but Thuy handed him a little banana instead. He seemed satisfied and went back to climbing her shoulder.
As Lala finished the last bite, she looked up at Thuy with grateful eyes. Her belly was full, and her heart was even fuller.

From that day on, every time Thuy needed help with Lu, Lala was right there, ready and willing. She took her role seriously. Not just because of the delicious reward, but because she loved her little family. She loved Thuy, who always cared for her. She loved Lu, who was like a silly younger brother. And she loved being helpful.
And Thuy? She knew she could always count on her loyal golden girl. No matter how chaotic things got, Lala was her gentle, reliable helper—always watching, always caring, always loving.
Every week, Lala earned a special treat of chicken breast. Sometimes it was grilled, other times it was shredded into a warm stew. Each time, she knew it wasn’t just food—it was a thank you. A reward for her devotion. A symbol of how much she meant to Thuy and their little home.

Neighbors often asked Thuy, “How do you keep your animals so well-behaved?”
Thuy would smile and say, “I treat them with love, and they give me love in return. Lala is the best example of that.”
Lala became a bit of a legend in the village. The obedient golden dog who helped raise a baby monkey and got rewarded with gourmet chicken. Children would come to visit, hoping to see Lu riding on Lala’s back or to catch a glimpse of the famous chicken-meal ceremony.
Lala, however, never let fame get to her head. She remained humble, gentle, and always eager to help. For her, the best reward wasn’t the chicken—it was the love, the cuddles, and the feeling of being part of something truly special.
And so, in that sunny village where animals and people lived in harmony, Lala continued to shine. With Lu by her side, Thuy at her back, and a plate of chicken waiting for her at the end of a long day, life couldn’t have been more perfect.
