It was a warm morning on the little farm nestled between the green hills. The sun peeked through the banana trees, and birds chirped happily in the distance. But something unusual was going on in the wooden house at the center of the farm. CUTIS, the clever young farmer with a heart of gold, had woken up to find that his dad, Mr. Tom, wasn’t feeling well.
“Dad, are you okay?” CUTIS asked, placing a gentle hand on his father’s forehead.
Mr. Tom gave a tired smile. “I think it’s just a little fever. I’ll be fine.”
But CUTIS wasn’t convinced. Mr. Tom had always been strong, the kind of man who never complained. So when he looked weak and pale, CUTIS knew something wasn’t right. Without a second thought, CUTIS made a decision: he would take care of his dad—no matter what.
Right then, Baby Monkey—CUTIS’s best animal friend—leaped onto the bed and looked at Mr. Tom with wide, curious eyes. He gently touched Mr. Tom’s cheek, as if trying to understand what was wrong.
CUTIS smiled. “You want to help too, don’t you, little buddy?”
Baby Monkey nodded, as if he understood every word.
From that moment on, the two of them became the perfect team: CUTIS and Baby Monkey, the most unlikely caregivers anyone had ever seen.

Step 1: Breakfast Surprise
CUTIS rushed to the kitchen to prepare something light and healthy. He remembered that his dad loved warm porridge with a dash of honey. While he stirred the oats, Baby Monkey ran around the house, looking for small things that might make Mr. Tom comfortable—a soft blanket, his favorite old radio, and even his reading glasses.
By the time CUTIS returned with the porridge, Baby Monkey had already arranged the bed like a cozy nest. Mr. Tom chuckled, clearly touched. “Well, this is the fanciest treatment I’ve ever had!”
CUTIS helped his dad sit up and spooned him the porridge. Baby Monkey sat close, gently fanning Mr. Tom with a banana leaf.
Step 2: The Farm Won’t Run Itself!
As the sun climbed higher, CUTIS realized the animals needed care. “Dad, don’t worry,” he said. “We’ll take care of everything.”
And they did.
While CUTIS carried buckets of feed and water to the chickens, goats, and pigs, Baby Monkey took on a new role: messenger. CUTIS tied tiny notes to Baby Monkey’s neck to remind him of tasks—“Time to feed the ducks,” or “Check if the water trough is full.”
Baby Monkey zipped around the farm, doing small chores like picking fallen fruit, scaring off lazy cats from the chicken coop, and giving friendly hugs to the baby goats. CUTIS was amazed. “You’re super smart, you know that?” he told him.

Step 3: Bringing the Doctor Home
Later in the afternoon, CUTIS made a difficult decision. He needed to call the village doctor, but he couldn’t leave his dad alone.
“I need your help,” he told Baby Monkey. “Can you go to Dr. Lina’s house and bring her here?”
Baby Monkey tilted his head, listening carefully. CUTIS gave him a little backpack with a note, some fruit, and a photo of Mr. Tom. “She’ll understand,” CUTIS said.
To everyone’s amazement, Baby Monkey dashed down the dirt path, swinging from trees and racing through the fields. Half an hour later, he returned—riding on Dr. Lina’s bike basket like a proud little courier!
Dr. Lina laughed. “This little guy wouldn’t stop tugging at my sleeve until I read the note!”
She checked Mr. Tom and said it was just a flu and he needed rest, fluids, and care. CUTIS felt relieved. “We’ve got that covered,” he said proudly.
Step 4: The Healing Garden
That evening, CUTIS had another idea. “Dad always says the garden heals the heart. Maybe it can help the body too.”
He and Baby Monkey brought Mr. Tom outside in a wheelbarrow with blankets and pillows. They made a spot under the mango tree, where the wind was cool and gentle.
CUTIS played the harmonica softly while Baby Monkey offered Mr. Tom sweet fruit and gently brushed away leaves that floated down from above.
Mr. Tom rested peacefully, smiling as he watched the two of them work together in perfect harmony.
Step 5: A Night to Remember
That night, as stars twinkled above and fireflies danced in the air, CUTIS and Baby Monkey cooked a small dinner. They set up a table near Mr. Tom’s bed, lit with little lanterns made of jars and candles.
They even wrote a song together and sang it:
🎵 “When the days are tough, we stay strong and kind,
With a monkey’s hug and a farmer’s mind.
We care for each other, come what may,
Love finds the most special way.” 🎵
Mr. Tom wiped a tear from his eye. “I’ve never felt more loved.”
CUTIS grinned. “That’s the plan.”

The Unexpected Gift
The next morning, Mr. Tom was already looking better. He had color in his cheeks, and the fever was gone. But he stayed in bed, watching as CUTIS and Baby Monkey continued to take care of everything without being asked.
Then, something surprising happened. Baby Monkey gently pulled a small box out of the drawer and handed it to Mr. Tom.
Inside was a wooden whistle—hand-carved by CUTIS.
“I was saving this for your birthday,” CUTIS said. “But I figured now’s a better time.”
Mr. Tom smiled wide. “This… this is the most special gift I’ve ever received.”
He blew gently into the whistle, and the soft sound floated through the trees like a lullaby.
Together, Always
That day, the farm was filled with laughter, light, and love. CUTIS and Baby Monkey had not only taken care of Mr. Tom’s health—they had lifted his spirit in the most beautiful, unexpected way.
Neighbors who heard the story came to visit, bringing food and flowers. “CUTIS, your monkey should be mayor!” one joked.
Everyone agreed—there was something magical about their bond. It wasn’t just about being clever. It was about being kind, thoughtful, and full of love.
And as the days went on, the story of how a baby monkey and a super smart boy took care of Dad spread across the valley—reminding everyone that sometimes, the best medicine is love, teamwork, and a touch of surprise.
