President Donald Trump made bold claims about how much he’s earned, after being asked about President Vladimir Putin ignoring his threats
President Donald Trump has made a bold claim that he has earned billions more dollars than what the US has sent in support to Ukraine.
People believe the 78-year-old Republican may have accidentally given too much away as he discusses how much money he has made during a sit-down with Fox News chief political anchor Bret Baier, while the POTUS was visiting Abu Dhabi.
While discussing the war in Eastern Europe, Baier touched on the fact that Russian President Vladimir Putin has been ignoring Trump’s threats he’s been making on Truth Social.
Citing his plea for Putin to stop bombing Ukraine on April 24, in relation to the Russian airstrike of a residential area which saw at least nine people die and 70 more injured.
Baeir said: “I haven’t seen you get personal – on True Social you said, ‘Vladimir stop’, he hasn’t stopped. And you had once said that maybe you need to look at other things like sanctions or banking, because maybe they need to be pressured in a different way.”

On May 8, Trump threatened ‘further sanctions’ to Putin if he declined the ceasefire.
Trump wrote on his social media platform: “Talks with Russia/Ukraine continue. The U.S. calls for, ideally, a 30-day unconditional ceasefire. Hopefully, an acceptable ceasefire will be observed, and both Countries will be held accountable for respecting the sanctity of these direct negotiations.
“If the ceasefire is not respected, the U.S. and its partners will impose further sanctions. Thousands of young soldiers are dying on a weekly basis, and everybody should want it to STOP.
“I do, and the United States of America does, also.”
Putin declined the ceasefire and instead suggested talks take place in Turkey, which Trump backed, then ultimately pulled out of the talks and the Russian dictator sent his officials instead.
Trump also did not attend the meeting, citing that he ‘would not have wanted to disappoint UAE’ by pulling out of his planned visit.

Speaking in Abu Dhabi, Trump replied to Baeir: “I don’t want to see 5,000 people [die each week in the war]. Outside of the money, which is a big deal, but the money is the money – the money we can make up. I can make up the money on one trip like this, OK?
“I mean, think of it. This trip, I made 12 times the money that we’re talking about. I made that money in a few days. I’ve always been good with money.”
Baeir interjected: “It’s not about the money, it’s about pressuring Putin, right?”
Trump replied: “I know, but I’ve always been good with money – I make money. I made in four days, I made 12 times what we spent in Ukraine. So the money is the money.”
So how much money are we talking about?
Since February 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine, the US Department of State has claimed it has provided the equivalent of $182.8 billion in support to Ukraine, while non-profit Kiel Institute – a German-based organization that is tracking support going into Ukraine – puts that figure at $119.7 billion.

However, Trump has claimed the figure to be as large as $350 billion, although he’s provided no evidence to support this.
So is Trump really claiming he made between $1.4 trillion and $4.2 trillion in four days by striking deals in the Middle East?
People over on Twitter believe Trump may have accidentally put his foot in it by reporting the figures.
“I think he’s saying the quiet part out loud,” one user joked.
Another said: “He’s conflating government expenditures on Ukraine, which apparently he continues to believe was $300 billion, with POTENTIAL investments in the US by foreign governments. The US government isn’t getting $4 trillion.”
“He has no answer to the actual questions, cause his Ukraine policy is s**t as Putin plays him again and again, but he’s still too scared to stand up to him,” explained another.
“So he deflects to some random side note that has nothing to do with it.”
While a fourth typed: “Talking in circles to avoid the obvious that Putin is playing him and he’s been weaker than Biden(a low bar) on supporting Ukraine and bringing Russia to heel.”Featured Image Credit: Fox

Donald Trump issues urgent plea to Russia and Ukraine as Putin makes new proposal
Trump has spoken out after Putin called for Russian officials to meet Ukrainian officials for a meeting on Thursday (May 15)
President Donald Trump has taken a swipe at both President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine, as he pushed once more for a peace deal to be signed to bring the war in Eastern Europe to an end.
Taking to Truth Social, he posted: “President Putin of Russia doesn’t want to have a Cease Fire Agreement with Ukraine, but rather wants to meet on Thursday, in Turkey, to negotiate a possible end to the BLOODBATH. Ukraine should agree to this, IMMEDIATELY.
“At least they will be able to determine whether or not a deal is possible, and if it is not, European leaders, and the U.S., will know where everything stands, and can proceed accordingly!
“I’m starting to doubt that Ukraine will make a deal with Putin, who’s too busy celebrating the Victory of World War ll, which could not have been won (not even close!) without the United States of America. HAVE THE MEETING, NOW!!!”

It comes as Putin has proposed restarting direct talks with Ukraine in Istanbul on Thursday (May 15), ‘without preconditions’.
Speaking to reporters in the Kremlin in the early hours of Sunday, Putin proposed to ‘restart’ peace talks Russia and Ukraine held in 2022.
“We are committed to serious negotiations with Ukraine,” Putin said, adding that he does not rule out agreeing to a ceasefire later, in the course of direct talks with Ukraine.
His remarks came after leaders from four major European countries threatened to ratchet up pressure on Putin if he does not accept an unconditional 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine that they offered on Saturday in a strong show of unity with Kyiv.
The leaders of France, the UK, Germany and Poland said their proposal for a ceasefire to start on Monday was supported by Trump, whom they had briefed over the phone earlier in the day.
Putin on Sunday once again said the Kremlin needs a truce that would lead to a ‘lasting peace’ instead of one that would allow Ukraine to rearm and mobilise more men into its armed forces.
He said he would speak to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and ask him to facilitate the peace talks this Thursday, saying ‘those who truly want peace cannot but support’ his proposal to restart the peace talks.
Putin did not directly address this latest ceasefire proposal, but Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov on Saturday told CNN that Moscow will need to consider the proposal.

Earlier that day, Peskov reiterated Russia’s claim that it was ready for peace talks with Ukraine ‘without preconditions’ and accused Kyiv of blocking those.
Russia’s own unilateral three-day ceasefire, declared for the 80th anniversary of victory over Nazi Germany expired on Saturday, and Ukraine said Russian forces have repeatedly violated it.
In March, the US proposed an immediate, limited 30-day truce, which Ukraine accepted, but the Kremlin has held out for terms more to its liking.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking to reporters alongside the European leaders in Kyiv, called their meeting ‘a very important signal’.
In a joint statement, as published on Zelenskyy’s official website, the five leaders called for a ceasefire ‘lasting at least 30 days’ from Monday, to make room for a diplomatic push to end the war.
“An unconditional ceasefire by definition cannot be subject to any conditions. If Russia calls for such conditions, this can only be considered as an effort to prolong the war and undermine diplomacy,” the statement read.Featured Image Credit: Andrew Harnik /Getty

Donald Trump threatens Putin with ‘further sanctions’ as he demands ceasefire in Ukraine
Donald Trump has vowed to end the war in Ukraine after Russia invaded their neighboring nation in 2022
Donald Trump has threatened Vladimir Putin with ‘further sanctions’ as the president continues to push for a ceasefire in Ukraine.
Trump said he would end the war in Ukraine within his first 24 hours back in office during the election campaign, but it’s been a lot more complicated than that.
Amid a tense bust-up between Trump and Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office, the US even temporarily withdrew military aid to the war-torn country.

However, Trump has previously expressed his anger at Putin for comments made about Ukraine, and the 47th POTUS has now stated he will place ‘further sanctions’ on Russia as he continues to work on an agreement with the two nations for a ceasefire.
Taking to Truth Social, Trump wrote: “Talks with Russia/Ukraine continue. The U.S. calls for, ideally, a 30-day unconditional ceasefire.

Trump continued: “As President, I will stay committed to securing Peace between Russia and Ukraine, together with the Europeans, and a Lasting Peace it will be!
“This ceasefire must ultimately build toward a Peace Agreement. It can all be done very quickly, and I will be available on a moment’s notice if my services are needed. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Late last month, Russia declared a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine from 8-11 May, amid the nation’s Victory Day celebrations led by Putin.
The Russian leader previously said the Kremlin would be issuing an appropriate response to any ‘violations’ if Ukraine doesn’t follow the ceasefire.
Ukraine rejected the ceasefire as a ‘theatrical show’, with the country’s military saying thousands of attacks have taken place in Ukraine since the ceasefire came into force on Thursday (May 8).

In an address published on his Twitter page overnight, President Zelenskyy said: “Ukraine is ready for a full ceasefire starting right now, from this very moment — a 30-day silence.
“But it must be real. No missile or drone strikes, no hundreds of assaults on the front. The Russians must respond appropriately – by supporting the ceasefire. They must prove their willingness to end the war.
“This isn’t the first time, we are offering this once again. Thirty days that could become the beginning of years of peace. A ceasefire, lasting and reliable, will be a real indicator of movement toward peace.”Featured Image Credit: Tasos Katopodis/Getty Images

Trump administration says they will ‘abandon’ Russia and Ukraine peace talks in a ‘matter of days’ if one specific change isn’t made
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has warned Russia and Ukraine that America may back away from the negotiation table in the coming days
President Donald Trump’s mission to end the war in Eastern Europe could be coming to an abrupt end as his administration says it will ‘move on’ from Russia-Ukraine peace talks unless one thing happens.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has been charged with brokering a deal between the two nations that have been at war since Russia invaded its southern neighbor in February 2022.
The 53-year-old and his team have been on the task for more than a month, having sat down in Saudi Arabia with Ukrainian officials to discuss plans to end the country’s ongoing war, on March 11.
Since then he has shared the table with Russian officials and has worked alongside Trump to try and get both nations to sign a peace agreement.

Now, speaking to reporters, Rubio has warned both nations that if there’s no indication that a truce can be struck in the coming days, the US will back away from the negotiation table.
“We’re not going to continue with this endeavour for weeks and months on end,” Rubio said, before stating that there are ‘other priorities to focus on’.
Having met with European leaders in Paris yesterday (April 17), the former presidential candidate told the press today: “We need to determine very quickly now – and I’m talking about a matter of days – whether or not this is doable.
“If it’s not going to happen, then we’re just going to move on.”
It comes after positive steps were taken by Ukraine in the US’ bid for the nation to sign a minerals deal, which in return would see an investment fund set up by America to help with the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Yesterday, the Ukrainian government announced that it had signed a memorandum of intent with the US echoing the above, part of an economic partnership agreement.
The US and Ukraine hope to strike a deal by next Saturday (April 26).
On Monday, with no clear-cut successful ceasefire agreement, Trump slammed both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Trump branded the Ukrainian leader ‘a dictator without elections’ and accused him of having ‘done a terrible job’.
Before later telling reporters in the Oval Office that ultimately, he believe ‘the mistake was letting the war happen’ in the first place – which he blames on not only Zelenskyy, but Biden and Putin too.
He went on: “You have millions of people dead, millions of people dead because of three people.
“Let’s say Putin number one. But let’s say Biden, who had no idea what the hell he was doing, number two, and Zelenskyy. And all I can do is try and stop it.”Featured Image Credit: Andrew Harnik/Getty

Trump threatens to take action against Putin for not wanting to ‘stop the war’
It comes as President Donald Trump was seen meeting with President Zelenskyy at Pope Francis’ funeral earlier today
President Donald Trump has threatened to take action against President Vladimir Putin as he speaks out for the first time following Pope Francis’ funeral.
Taking to Truth Social, the 78-year-old Republican wrote at the bottom of a lengthy post where he took aim at The New York Times over its coverage of the peace deal the Trump administration is attempting to broker.
It read: “With all of that being said, there was no reason for Putin to be shooting missiles into civilian areas, cities and towns, over the last few days.
“It makes me think that maybe he doesn’t want to stop the war, he’s just tapping me along, and has to be dealt with differently, through “Banking” or “Secondary Sanctions?” Too many people are dying!!!”
The attack in question he is referring to is the hours-long barrage of missiles and drones on a residential area in Kyiv in the early hours of Thursday morning (April 24), local time.

At least nine people and injured more than 90, making it the deadliest assault on the Ukrainian capital since last July, just as peace efforts are coming to a head.
Speaking about it on the day of the attacks, Trump posted on Truth Social: “I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying. Lets get the Peace Deal DONE!”
Meanwhile, earlier today Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Trump were pictured in a meeting before Pope Francis’ funeral, with the photograph depicting the two leaders sat opposite one another on chairs within St Peter’s Basilica, in the Vatican City.

It was the first time Trump and Zelenskyy had met face-to-face since their explosive discussion they had in front of national television in the Oval Office back in February.
The 78-year-old Republican president had criticized his Ukrainian counterpart numerous times since taking post, but from all accounts they have buried the hatchet.
Taking to Twitter to reflect on their meeting, Zelenskyy wrote: “Good meeting. We discussed a lot one on one. Hoping for results on everything we covered. Protecting lives of our people.
“Full and unconditional ceasefire. Reliable and lasting peace that will prevent another war from breaking out. Very symbolic meeting that has potential to become historic, if we achieve joint results. Thank you @POTUS.”
